The Voice tour failing to sell tickets.

A promoter has said it's considering being pulled due to the highly exorbitant prices and general lack of interest.

If the audience all had swivel chairs and the singer had to stop warbling after a minute if 50% of the audience hadn't turned around - that could be a fun show that would sell tickets.

Why would they think it would work?

You saw most of the acts for a matter of a week and that was it.

I can barely remember the finalists nevermind the early contestants

What a disaster this has been for the BBC.

They have booked too many venues, too BIG a venues and too expensive a tour! £40 is a lot per person! I think £25 ish would be more reasonable. They should do less shows and focus on a few major cities (London, Manchester, Brum, Glasgow etc) And probably not massive venues either... theyre gonna struggle to fill 20K seats in London!!

Wonder if theyre gonna do less shows or shelve the whole thing? I was considering going, but actually I decided to go and see the individual artists I favor instead.

This article makes sensible points

There's been minimal promotion and any 'buzz' will have gone by September.
I only hope individual artists can make something of their exposure.

I was going to go, but it's too expensive. I'd only be there for Max and Bo. Plus I'd rather see a Meanwhile in Tinseltown gig tbf. A lot cheaper, and more focused on Max.

It will be problematic if The Voice fails to launch even 1 artist successfully!!

I suspect its all down to how thei new material goes now...

I know a few of the artists are already working on their new albums. Its important that they get them released before The Voice 2013 starts (IF it starts!)

£40 is VERY Expensive, If they dropped the price to the £25 mark I would go as I think all eight of them would put on a good show and I'd be interested to see it but at £40 its just too much which is a shame as I'd love to go

Not really a surprise. Most people couldn't work up enough interest to watch it for free in the comfort of their own living rooms. Why would anybody pay £40 to see the wannabes in concert?

If BGT had to cancel their tour then I cant see how The Voice was going to manage it.

They've already had to downscale the Glasgow show from a 12,000 capacity arena to a 3,000 capacity theatre.

I was really tempted to go to the tour but £40 is just too expensive!! If it was £20-£25 then it would probably sell quite well.

Always said they shouldn't have done a tour this year it was way too soon and I was thinking that before the raitings dropped like a stone from the sky.

Biggest reason why a september tour was a really bad idea is it will get completely overshadowed by X Factor in the media.

Agree about the price, plus it wasn't very well publicised when the show was on the telly. I did look into buying tickets, as seeing artists live is always much better, but for me and my daughters to go it was just too expensive. Shame as I would have loved to see most of the acts, especially Max, Vince, Tyler and Bo.

Too be honest I think even if they sold the tickets for £5 each they would still be having the same problems. The lack of interest in the acts is where the problem lies.

Can't say I'm surprised, I predicted this ages ago. The declining ratings during the live shows clearly showed that not that many people had an interest in seeing them perform live, and £40 is FAR too much. XF tour tickets are around £25, I think, and even they have trouble selling out every show.

Leanne winning the show and flopping in the charts is the final nail in the coffin for this disastrous series. The majority of these shows will most likely be cancelled by the sounds of things.

I had no idea there was a tour!
They really need to fix the promotion problems for next years series, the BBC can't promote them but that doesn't mean they can be promoted elsewhere like radio etc.

Overpricing is the main problem here. Yes audiences were down for large parts of the run, but even an audience of 5 million will contain a few thousand die hard fans who'll be up for the tour.

Less venues and less costs wouldve resulted in a more positive result. It neednt be a "big" show, the raison d'etre of The Voice is good singing, not spangle spangle showbiz looking shows...

If they would have paid 200£ dollars to attend, I would have flow to England on holiday, and still not gone to the tour.

That's because you wouldn't be able to pull yourself away from this forum to bash The Voice
