Really? I thought you would have gone so you could come back on here afterwards and tell everyone how terrible it was. Now you won't have anything new to post about and everyone will be so disappointed.

Bet theyve pullled the plug.

Unfortunately reporting in the press is a self fulfilling prophesy. Who'd buy a ticket for a tour you might think might be cancelled?

Just been on Ruth Brown's twitter. Seems she is hearing about the Voice's cancelled tour dates from her fans!!

Way to go The Voice management, not even telling your touring artists whether or not the tour is going ahead!!

(I guess this is one of the effects of the Twitter age, everythings so immediate....)

Sadly I think artists like Ruth will suffer most from The Voice tour being cancelled. She needs exposure and live experience to develop her talents, more established artists like Bo can stand on their own feet a bit easier.....

As a fan of the Voice, I can't say I'm suprised but even so, that's pretty embarrassing!

Pricing it at £40 during a massive recession is an act of insanity!

What were they thinking?

It's pure greed. As some have said if BGT can't run its established tour then the Voice had no hope.

I wonder who was responsible for organising this tour ? Whoever it was should have booked smaller venues to see how it went this year. Of course the ticket prices were much too high as well. Don't they know there is a recession?

They should have seen the writing on the wall when the BGT tour was cancelled. People are not going to pay that amount of money when they may only like a few of the acts, they'd rather save the money to see someone they really like.

The other thing not organised well was The Voice album. The record company were at fault here by not promoting it at all. I still find people who didn't even know there was a Voice album. Perhaps the record company didn't want to promote artists who weren't signed to them.

As a fan of The Voice I hope something is done to improve things next year.

has the whole tour been canceled then or just selected dates?

edit: quick google and it's the whole tour. the likes of Liverpool & Newcastle have messages on the sites saying canceled due to poor ticket sales

Ticket sites such as ticketmaster are still selling seats for most of the dates, so I'm assuming it's just Manchester, London and the couple of other cities already announced which have been cancelled - for now at least.

I have heard that at least one of the dates has been moved from a 20,000 capacity venue to a smaller 5,000 (ish) capacity venue (although I cant remember which city this was?!) I think, had the organisers done this in the first place and started out smaller the tour could have been more of a success and given them something to build on for next year

£40 seems alot to me, when its not an established music act with hit songs. £24 would be reasonable. Im sorry for the contestants involved.

It's confirmed that the whole tour is cancelled:

Quote:
The eleven date tour for The Voice UK Live has been cancelled due to a lack of ticket sales.

The gigs were due to feature eight of the show's finalists.

The Voice UK Live tour was to begin at the Bournemouth International Centre on September 12. Then go on to visit Cardiff, Birmingham, Manchester, Liverpool, London, Glasgow and Sheffield.

Organisers say fans with tickets for the cancelled dates can get a refund.

A number of ticket outlets had only sited five dates as being axed earlier today, but organisers have confirmed to Newsbeat that none of the scheduled dates will be going ahead.

In a statement, bosses said: "Unfortunately, The Voice UK Live has been cancelled due to lack of ticket sales - customers are advised to contact their point of purchase for ticket refunds."

BBC should just walk away.
I said months ago in the Ratings thread the voice UK would fail after seeing the Dutch show.
far from gloating about it I really wanted a show that would rival cowells grip over this section of TV.
Lets all be friends.Lets not tell the act they sung terrible is never going to work here.
they didnt have the spin off shows like in the netherlands which sole purpose was getting the fans to know the acts more..why? because most of the acts were so bloody annoying it would have made matters even worse.

The main problem with this show was that the emphasis was on the judges, oops sorry, the mentors.....and none of the contestants was a sufficiently big personality to grab the public imagination.

The idea was a good one, but unfortunately the whole production was geared up to massage the egos of the rich and famous.

Isn't that Madonna or Coldplay or something like that level ticket prices?

The tour dates must have been clashing with something, or they were scheduled too early, or the weather is due to be quite nice that day, or...
