Real reason why:

Cheryl - a manipulative woman who is NOT as innocent as she looks, and this about her going through a tough time is bull. She has not had a life-threatening illness, or lost/losing a relative that way. She has basically aired her dirty laundry to the public and played everyone for fools. I wouldn't be surprised if she or Cowell/Will,i,am have bought the OCC by sending the song to #1. A LOT of people I know hate the song, and that is not her singing on it.

Vicki - Yes she's a media whore....but a good person. Her career didn't take off as there were too many similar sounding artists; Geri and Emma were hitting #1 with their own compositions and likeable personas. Kylie's comeback was HUGE and has had catchy songs plus add Sophie Ellis-Bextor who has a huge following and a similar image to Posh and even Shakira with her Latin sex kitten appeal. Yes she has crazy fans, but who doesn't. Vicki is much more likeable imo.

i did think that was rather ironic, considering the information i provided about vb`s promotional tactics on the previous page. one post is quantifiable and the other is merely speculation.

Victoria gave the impression that she believed her own BS - that is always the beginning of the end for anyone.

Cheryl is not particularly talented at all, but seems aware of her limitations and knows (or is being advised) better how to use her small store of talent.

Erm...how is Victoria more of a good person than Cheryl? And Cheryl has not told the media about her troubles...they speculate on her. She is on the front of every celeb magazine. She does not control them, she is not Murdoch, she does not dictate what they write.

that was funny, hilarious in fact. the press did seem to give her a hard time to be fair, but stunts like that certainly didn't help.

Neither seem to be particularly talented, but it's maybe easier to be jealous of Posh than Cheryl because she was with #1 sex god at the time she was trying to start her solo career.

Cheryl by contrast has had a lot of lucky sob stories - the breakup, malaria, being dropped from X Factor.

Fame-wise, much of a muchness, the Spice Girls were on TV all the time whereas Cheryl's X Factor was only for three months of the year. Once again you got to know more of "Cheryl as a person" perhaps but the Spice Girls had interviews left right and centre and a feature film! Got to admit that's good promo.

Once again then considering the competition. Posh had more competition from her rivals in Spice releasing at the same time and also other similar females.

Whereas Cheryl...released at a time where there were no other particular rivals, off the back of TV promo, and likewise off the back of a featured single (will.i.am's Heartbreaker) that would have got her noticed in the charts prior to solo success.

Much like what Beyonce did for her first single with Jay-z, built up interest and potential as a soloist prior to releasing any actual solo material. Started to build up an out-of band persona (as a street-ish dancer, urban) without being judged against the other girls.

Whereas Posh...she was just Posh. We still call her that. I struggle to think of something else that describes her, and the word itself is hardly flattering..

You seem to have a thing about David Beckham. You talk so positively of his many affairs (?? evidence), in what seems to be support for Cheryl, by deriding Victoria for still being married to him. I haven't a clue as to how many affairs Beckham has or hasn't. As far as I know Victoria does not move from one man to the next for personal gain and has not herself had an affair.

Neither Cheryl or Victoria have been blessed with vocal talent that's for sure. Victoria is highly successful now and before she met David. There is no doubt that both women have benefited from hitching up to a famous footballer. Victoria has kept her man and stood by him. She is also Mother to his 4 kids which many might think is a good reason to stay together, but I suspect they are both suited to each other, even if you don't want to use or accept the love word.

Did Cheryl trade on Ashley and then move on to men much more powerful in the music business. Was it all chance that they were ideal to launch a solo singing career, I don't know, it's probably just a luck thing.

I think those two suggestions are important. Victoria Beckham has always seemed to be content to present an aloof image from the media. She seems quite cold and it seems that she wanted to create a celebrity barrier between her and the public. Having said that Cheryl Cole comes from an era where there is much more exposure from the digital era. The internet and digital TV was much more prevalent during Cheryl's era. Her producers, record label and herself would have been more equiped to have exploited this. Also, Victoria Beckham's material was not strong enough to propell her solo career. Her Truesteppers single with Dane Bowers was up against DJ Spiller featuring Groovejet 'If this ain't love' was an iconic single of the noughties.

True about Truesteppers. I liked it, but yes "if this ain't love' was something special. Dane Bowers and his "links" don't conjure up the cool of say Will i am. Cheryl as alway's, got the lucky break of upping her media attention by posing on Will i am's Heartbreaker video of 2009.

I don't have a thing about David Beckham at all , I hardly speak about him . But I suppose we must overlook Rebecca Loos as some fantasist - even though the Beckhams never actually sued her like they said they would when she disclosed intimate details of their grubby little fling. And there have been other women linked with Becks in the past. (Why do you mention that Posh has never had an affair, I never said she had?)

You accuse me of 'deriding' Victoria, yet it's ok for you to say that she has 'kept her man', which is an obvious dig at Cheryl not being able to save her marriage, and you said it in a previous post which prompted me to post a comment back - pot/kettle

You question whether Cheryl 'traded in' Ashley for her solo career, you could suggest the same thing about Posh showing a united front to keep Brand Beckham the money making machine it is, gritting her teeth and producing babies to show what a happy marriage her and David have - none of us know.

Lastly, and I really did have to laugh about this - you accuse me of having a thing about Beckham and that I deride Posh. Are you aware of how many comments, threads and links you put on here about Cheryl Cole?

Victoria's debut was heading for number one all week and was robbed at the very last minute and her debut album was quite good imo. Maybe more promo would have helped aswell as including Your Out Of Your Mind on the album. She had two top 10 singles of it and maybe if she had released another single of it like I Wish the album could have generated sales aswell as including Your Out Of Your Mind! And as for he unreleased material Open Your Eyes is very good and could have been a hit for her she head a top 3 hit with Let Your Head Go/ This Groove on the christmas market strong competition there aswell if the album came out aswell i dont dout she would have had a top 10 there and could have a few more hits. I would not call her music career a failure she just gave up too soon. I still think she should do a fans only digital release of the unreleased albums for her fans. I gave her career support and brought all her singles, books, dvd and debut album. I just came on to put this because some of you are quick to right her off. I still play her music today. She wrote alot on her 1st album and it is sadly overlooked.

Your doing it again particularly with your choice of words, deriding David Beckham in the hope of some how convincing a reader that Victoria is of some dubious character, or calculating by association with him. As to me posting, I do not start links or threads. You seem very active in rushing to the defense of "Cheryl" where ever her name pops up which I'm sure is noticed. I feel that what David got up to with Rebecca is again getting too specific, when the thread is about why Cheryl's "singing" career took off more than Victoria's.

Cheryl is a much better singer dancer and peformer than Victoria ever was she may not have the best voice but Cheryl owns the stage when she is performing imo

Not sure when this came out, but a surprisingly good sounding single both in lyrics and the studio voice production makes her sound perhaps more talented than she is. No doubt for some commenting here, some cringeworthy rolling photo's, but I think they make a nice couple warts and all.
