Oh yeah - Leigh Palmer threw herself under a truck. Same as Alison, that awful wife of Kevin's in Corrie.

I agree Steph's was a suicide, she purposefully stayed in that building to die.
I didn't like her doing that though, I know she has cancer, but I think she chose a horrible way to kill herself!

Also, do I remember rightly that Newt in HO attempted suicide due to his scizophrenia (sp)? Might be wrong on that one.

Family Affairs did it once. I can't recall the characters name but it was Anne Harts father. He gassed himself in the car after killing his wife. Then the whole family got blown up weeks later when the boat exploded!!

Casualty's Claire Guildford drove off a harbour in episode 48 series 19 in an attempt to kill both herself and two other characters, Luke and Charlie. Luke and Charlie survived but she died.

Also in casualty series 22 episode 25 Ruth Winters attempted suicide and recently a woman stepped in front of a lorry trying to kill herself.

Annie's father was Jack Gates, played by Ken Farrington. Farrington had previously played Billy Walker in 'Coronation Street'. After 'Family Affairs' he was Tom King in 'Emmerdale'.
