Game genres you are starting to enjoy less

I used to love playing FPS games but with more and more of them released I'm startling to lose interest in them. I also get quite nauseous when playing FPS games nowadays which means I can play them for less than an hour before feeling sick.

I also struggle to get into turn based strategy games, love my RTS games but can't get into games like Total War at all and really wish I liked them because they are so highly rated. The same applies to RPGs, love action RPGs like Diablo 2 but can't get into the turn based ones at all.

One on one fighting games like Street Fighter 2 used to be my world, spent hours down the local arcade playing them and on my SNES, all these new ones like Street Fighter X Tekken etc just don't draw me in as much.

RPG's(Fallout, Oblivion, Skyrim type RPG's games) are about the only genre I still enjoy these days, I've gone right of FPS or third person action/adventure. Didnt even finish the latest Uncharted as I got bored..lol.

FPS games, it has become a tired over saturated genre.

Any game with nothing original about it. I also like to branch out to other genres i've not played for years. Such as MS Flight Sim and the Total War series.

FPS.

& I just won't bother touching an MMORPG. On the other hand, I'm really looking forward to Planetside 2(MMOFPS). Give the genre a bit of a boost

For me it's driving games. Iv'e grown bored of them. I used to play Burnout P all the time along with Forza 3 and 4 but don't look at them now. I don't mind FPS's but it's mainly COD MW2 and 3 i play

The problem with FPS's is that they are all the same. Brown/grey COD clones. All the new military shooters just bore me.

However anything that’s a bit different is great. I am very much looking forward to dishonoured and Bioshock Infinate.

I still occasionally play Halo Reach but apart from that I've quit FPS.

After wasting £40 on the awful MW3 I'm very unlikely to buy another military shooter.

Any other shooters apart from Halo every other one tries and fails miserably to get on par with the series in my opinion.

FPS for me too. Haven't really enjoyed one for a good while. Oh, appart from Rage. That was really enjoyable. Nothing new but I thought it played really well. The pimped up shotgun with pop rockets was a hoot.

Another FPS vote. COD, Halo and all the ten thousand others we've had this gen have killed the genre for me. Also online is full of cheating ******* which is why I now hate online play.

control pad FPS, no fun and feel jerky. I have not bought a few due to this.

OK on PC with mouse, but console and DS3 torture. Yet fine with TPS

Hence my favourite console FPSs are Move supported

FPS shooters. When I first played MW2, I absolutely loved it for a year or so. Yes, I did sometimes become frustrated with the game, however I generally did always find myself going back to it after a while and I spent so much time playing it.

Since then though, I've gradually become disilussioned with them. I feel that they're so unoriginal and boring now. Each game is just the same as the last one. Game creators will try to be smart by adding in some new features here and there to make it look fresh and innovative, but the fact is that it's basically the same tripe they're all releasing year after year and racking up billions for. The sad thing is they won't stop while they continue to reek in money for these games. I actually don't really blame them for exploiting the customer; I blame the customer for continually buying these games.

I don't think I'm tired of any genre as such, a good game of any type would get a warm welcome. To say I'm fed up of one type because everything out just now sucks isn't really my true feelings.

But if I had to choose I would say online FPS.

FPS. Each one is just a cod clone and you see the same FPS cliches in every single game. No originality.

Plenty of votes on here for FPS games. It's still my most favourite videogame genre, though despite the clichés, oversaturation and unoriginality.

Finding the true gems is apparently the trick of finding the joy these days.

All the modern warfare clones. Dreadfully generic and tedious. On the other hand loot-em-ups like Borderlands are still an utter joy to play. Same goes for the tactical stealth FPS Far Cry 2.

The last Medal Of Honor I enjoyed was Airborne. Each game since the graphics have improved vastly in direct proportion to how tedious they've become.

Regards

Mark

Thing is though, people keep buying the latest identikit manshoots like COD and interesting innovative games like Bulletstorm get ignored. People are rubbish.

American Football games. They used to be fun, and simple, but now they have taken to making them way too complicated and for hardcore NFL fan which i am not.....also Ice Hockey...They are too complicated too !!!
