Are you a achievement.trophy hunter?

A friend of mine was complaining that there were hardly and decent driving games around apart from gt5 and shift and i mentioned to him that he should try Race driver grid. His reply was "nah it don't have trophies " i looked at his trophy list and he certainly does seem to go after every trophy in every game.
I tend to just play the game if i get an achievement 90xbox360) or a trophy (ps3) then i get it if i don't then i certainly will not lose any sleep over it lol.
Are any of you guys trophy/achievement hunters and also what are your views on them?
Personally i think fair play to them.

I'd love to collect them, but some games would require a hell of a lot of time to get them all.

I only have one platinum and that's on Sly 1. That was only because it was easy.

depends on the game i'm playing I suppose but i'm not an achievement whore. I couldn't be bothered sitting playing a game just to complete it 100%. Iv'e been after a few achievements on Halo anniversary for ages and won't give up until I get them lol mainly the complete the Library without dying

I like cheevos ... i like the meta game ones if I'm honest ... I like the little 'Blip' sound when they pop ... I dislike the same sound playing when your going for a cheevo only to fiend its a friend notification

The biggest problem for me is online ones, for two reasons:
1) If they are for winning x number of games or catching x number of points then fine as long as they actually benefit 'The team' then you don't run into 'Idiots not playing the game and just trying to boost' which really isn't the point!

2) I also dislike them because it's very rare for an online game to keep busy lobbies for any number of months before they are dead ... meaning that you just can't get those cheevos ... My gamerscore is littered with those

But I will say that even tjhough I like them I still know when I have had enough of a game and just want to get rid of it

52 Platinum Trophies and a 77% completion ratio probably answer that question.

Although if I tire of a game I will happily leave it rather than push on playing something I no longer get enjoyment out of just for a trophy. I am also happy to play games without trophies, although if I was in a shop looking to choose a new game and found two I liked I would probably pick the one with trophies over one without.

I dislike online trophies as well as the requirement for those are often quite time consuming and with the vast majority of games the online is dead before you get chance to achieve them all. It would be nice if online trophies could be separate from the main game in the same way DLC is, Platinum is possible from offline only with addition trophies for online play should you wish to use the multiplayer mode

Yes, i try to make sure i get each and every achievement for each game i get. It adds replay value and i'm a completion freak.

I enjoyed getting Darwins Parachute achievement in Bad Company. The fella in the gunners seat wasn't too chuffed when I jumped out though.

Yep. Right now in CS:GO all i play with is pistols so i can unlock the achievements. It's abit of a mismatch when i have a FiveSeven and the enemy has a Negev, but it's fun.

Yeah I love collecting trophies. I wouldn't have finished Uncharted 2&3 on crushing if it wasn't for trophies, so straight away they've created a better value game for me.

Regarding GRID, the lack of trophy support is why I haven't bought it back, I traded that game after trophies arrived on the PS3.

Yes I try to get as many achievements as possible. I find it gives the games more longevity - especially single player games.

If I dislike a game's online mode then I generally won't bother with its online achievements e.g Assassins Creed.

If I like the game then I will go for most of the trophies. I usually play on the hardest possible difficulty first to get the most out of the game. What I won't do is play a sh#t game just to earn trophies like Hannah Montana or Terminator which are on the list of some of my PSN friends, and a lack of trophies wouldn't stop me from playing a good game.

I'm still getting trophies on Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 and that requires a minimum of 7 game completions and 13,000 kills with different weapons.

I only have 9 Plats will get a few more as I make my way through the current backlog.

No I just wish a company would make a action replay with codes like the ps2 days. I couldnt care less about online or some gamerscore.

It depends on the game. Games like COD then no, one play through is enough for me. But games such as Metal Gear Solid then yes but not the really hard ones as I'm not a great gamer. Also I don't bother with online trophies as I hate playing online unless its co op.

Good game - I chase the platinums, otherwise don't bother.

Funniest trophy, swimming in a roof top pool in Nepal, you get two there

I admit that I'm a trophy hoarder and not ashamed by it.I have 19 platinums. I find it quite rewarding to be able to get some of the tougher ones and it also gives a lot of replay value.

I hate MP trophies though as I'm not an MP kind of person and hate that it would prevent me from getting a platinum (AC:B and AC:R to name two titles).

Hardest Trophy I've still to get for Platinum - Hard To The Core - Dead Space 2.

I like counter trophies
- use x so many times
- find x amount of things

I go for all the avatar award unlocks, but never go for achievments. Some of them are impossible anyway, Like the Trials Hd marathon achievement or the online ones for old games that either have no one playing online or have no online at all.

I prefer games where you can choose the hardest difficulty right from the start and i'll play through on that setting but I can't be bothered with games where you have to finish it on a certain difficulty to unlock insane or whatever. So most of my games that I haven't got the achievements for are those that need to be played through again or played in co-op or online.

I played Terminator for the easy platinum haha, got to admit it wasn't the best experience I've ever had but the devs didn't pocket much from my stupidity as it only cost me a fiver.

My other 3 Platinum trophies were labors of love, Uncharted 2, Assassin Creed 2 and InFamous.

I will chase a platinum if I think its possible for me and my poor gaming skills to achieve it.

I'm on 78% completion with a gamerscore of 85K having played 100 games. High gamerscores aren't that impressive nowadays since people can get unlimited rentals. There was an online player yesterday with a score of 150K but when you check his gaming info you realise he's played nearly 400 games. All he's been doing is getting 50 from a game and moving on to the next. Not much skill there at all ...

Currently got the two New York Minute achievements left to complete for Max Payne 3.

I used to go after them a lot, but I really couldn't care less now. Achievements are pointless to me if I'm being honest.
