I don't normally come into the daily, but just want to say how ridiculous it is that BBC and ITV insist on showing these matches on their main channel. They each have alternative channels, BBC2, 3 and 4 and ITV2 and 3, et al so why not designate those channels to the football? Same goes for the Olympics when undoubtedly we'll go through the whole pantomime again. I know some areas are still on anologue, but surely the majority of people now have Freeview at least?

Won't be watching Emmers cause I'll either be watching the match or catching up on Mock The Week...

I agree: I understand they want the England matches on BBC1 and ITV1, but for all the other countries, surely BBC3 and ITV4 should be their natural home...

Agreed. I'd be interested to know what ratings they've been getting for non-England matches - bet they're pretty low. Surely footie is the most partisan of all sports, so why would anyone want to watch a match when they have no investment or interest in either side?

I was just abut to have a moan, demanding that the BBC shows all football matches from now on little realising that they are and at the very same time as ITV

And another thing, what if the ITV match goes into extra time/penalty shoot outs/injury time/wasting time time/any other reason for prolonging the match time

Ahhh, it's good to moan

Currently being shown by TV3 in Ireland ( surprised since I thought they had to wait until UTV showed it )

Second part just started and Paddy is trying to fix a puncture

So, apart from the England game, they are not attracting anywhere near their soaps' audience.... Perhaps, in 4 years time, they will put most of the matches on BBC3 and ITV4...

Hurry up Emmerdale.

It's like waiting for a bus you know is going to be full. You know you won't enjoy the ride, and at it's conclusion you'll be a bit annoyed, but you still hope it arrives soon.
