more iPod questions - sorry!!
hey i know there's a thread on iPods below this about whether they will play MP3s etc but what i wanna ask is is there any real difference between the mini iPod and the other ones (other than the size)
i found them here for £178 - which i think is quite reasonable? http://www.dabs.com/uk/productview?quicklinx=31V6KF any advice greatly appreciated cheers fay |

no difference except size and storage capacity. and design.
but other than that they both do the same thing. £178 is about the right price, but for only another £40 you'd get 5x as much memory (20Gb instead of 4) Iain |

It would be cheaper to walk into a shop and buy one for £179 rather than buy it from Dabs for 1p less and pay P&P to make it £5 more. Bought mine from Virgin...
Other than size, I don't think there's much difference between the mini and the normal iPod. The only functional difference that I think I saw when I went from the mini to the 40GB 4th gen model was that the 40GB model plays back while it's charging and I don't think the mini does. But I could be wrong and I don't have the mini anymore to check. BTW, Dabs do have the 20GB iPod for £210. |

You could look into Creative Zen Micro - pretty much identical to ipod mini but cheaper and 1GB bigger
Been looking at these and wondered if anyone has one? |

I'd highly recommend looking into iRiver Hxxx series of media players, a *lot* better than an iPod IMO.

Nobody seems to have them in stock. Have spent all morning trying to track one for an 18th birthday present. Have tried Virgin, John Lewis, Argos, Comet, Curry's etc, and so far two on-line retailers. Where are they?

iPod's are totally overrated! I was playing with one in Selfridges, Manchester the other day, and they were not what I expected - not to mention those bright white ear hones being a dead giveaway to muggers! lol...
I totally wanted an iPod before then, but now I think I'll just get a lower priced player - which isn't an iPod! *still loves Apple though *

so what did you expect?
and i'm sure the headphone/muggings thing is overplayed. besides, who actually does include decent headphones? whatever you go for i can recommend the sennheiser px200 headphones. Iain |

Have the gold mini ipod in stock still, their next day delivery is very good (and free) and they will deliver to a valid work address instead of your home, which is dead handy. My girlfriend just bought my xmas present mp3 player from there on monday and it arrived first thing tuesday morning |
