Saturday morning TV

Just flipped over to Made in Chelsea on channel 4 to see a women in some tiny underwear holding a whip cutting to a woman looking up a guys kilt and announcing its so small.

A little innapropriate maybe C4?

Showing my age but pretty much all we had when I was a kid was cartoons, have broadcasters and regulators just given up now?

Only problem is, a show like that would never work now. How many people would actually watch? Sadly, I don't think it's a lot

No it's Channel 4, what do you expect? However, I do hanker for the good old days of Tiswas and Swap Shop.

Isn't the main reason that most kids TV is now on their own digital channels?

I can remember sometimes there was the Open University followed by a Laurel and Hardy film.

I've never watched the show but have heard about it and did raise an eyebrow when I saw it was on this morning.

A lot of Channel 4 shows are trash now. Surprised you've never encountered Shipwrecked, shown on Sunday lunchtimes, a foul mouthed cheapo version of Big Brother with a load of whinging, anti social 18 year olds on an island.

Trouble is if you have a three hour Saturday Morning show like we use to, the Daily Mail will only go up and arms saying a BBC show on for 3 hours for Children is ruining their health!

I remember Saturday Superstore and Going Live (and vaguely Saturday Swapshop) from the 1980s.

Whose idea was it to replace the 2/3 hour show like these and Live & Kicking with 'Saturday Kitchen' ? As if there wasn't already enough cookery programmes on TV.

I remember a programme that featured Rick Jones (of Playschool and fingerbobs) doing a show that featured items wizzing down a zip wire! Can't remember what it was called but it was on late on Saturday morning an I suppose must have been on BBC 1.
Also liked the original Tiswas when it was just shown in the ATV region with John Asher,Chris Tarrant,Peter Tomlinson and Trevor East.

I miss the days and feel sorry for kids these days who have to sit through this crap when we got better shows like Tiswas, Swap Shop, Superstore & Going Live.

SMTV was the last great kids Saturday show. However, it was replaced by the omnibus of Coronation St a, real fun for kids to watch, while BBC One shows its usual property and antiques shows.
