yes she answered correctly with an understandable pause (like we all do). Stu looked bemiffed. Possibly he was still shaken by the presence of the green talking duck.

Hi trashcan, long time no hear.

I'm taking your answer as a resounding "YES".

To borrow JJ's shark analogy, Miss Bunnyboiler wasn't bothered about the fact it was for charity. Like the Great White that she is. she homed in with deadly intent for this WL opportunity to increase her diminishing public profile like the shark that sees a wounded dolphin.

Her agent probably told her that you sometimes have to do things you dont want to do in order to get the exposure, you know things like ... doing things for charity, giving the appearance that she still getting a regular service from
Stu-pid etc etc

Oh what a happy day it will be when they part company with each other.

Oh no, no,no... they must never part company - they deserve each other and shouldn't be allowed to ruin the lives of any two other people.

The most startling thing is with him is that any sympathy you'd have for him through his being bullied into sex and completely smothered during his BB experience just disappears when you see him now - he is such a plank with no personality and nothing to say.

He is way, way stupider than she is. He doesn't even have the saving grace of being good looking - he is so dolled up now he looks for all the world like a woman. What a wet blanket.

I'm surprised a vicious maneater like Moo Moo even has time for such a weedy, under-endowed specimen.

I think Wayne Rooney would show her a much better time. Like her, he's rough, stocky, got a big wide face, and would probably think of St Albans as being "glamourous". Plus, he likes the older slapper. And he earns more in a month than Stu-pid will in his lifetime.... and you know how important this last point is to Moo Moo and her fans.

Moo-Moo and Wayne - it sounds lovely. Just imagine what their kids would look like.

This isn't an area I normally wander round - but may I just note that I enjoyed your rant a great deal.

Presumably we get the 'celebrities' we deserve, which suggests we all did something Very Bad in a previous life.

Thank you very much. Although, on my Ranting Scale of 1 - 10, that was probably only a 6.

As for the celebrities we deserve, in the UK now it seems you only become a "celebrity" by being someone's son or daughter (e.g. Calum Best or Zoe Ball) or by being vile on a reality TV show (e.g. Lizzy from Wife Swap, or Brian Dowling from BB).

But at least most of these people do something, even if it's just annoy the GBP.

Stupid and MooMoo just stand there looking blankly ahead with dead, empty eyes, occasionally mumbling something
incoherent.

She was so greedy and desperate for fame she never thought about what she'd do with it once she'd got it, and he's just a patheic bit of wet cardboard dragged along for the ride.

I ... um ... errr

Yes. I must say He (forgotten his name again) seemed the bigger underchiever, if only because She went on with an 'I'll get me tits oot fer the lads' attitude, and only became a virgin later on. He, I seem to remember, felt he was intellectualy challenging and an all-round room-filler, but failed to gain humility no matter how much was on offer. Making a performance out of being slightly dumber than a box of rocks would, one would think, make one cautious about getting caught out again. And yet they keep doing it.

But I have been entertained by the general decline of the BB contestants, who with each successive series have plumbed new depths - new shallows - of facile greed and vanity.

Bitching about the X Factor, mostly - my day-job used to be making commercials, with a sideline in pop promos; so I declared myself an industry expert and hold forth, with no authority whatsoever, on various subjects.

Which is what makes BB more fun, since we're all (give or take) human, and can call each other names on an equal footing.

The lank-haired scratchy old tart who won the last one - Kate? - was a fine example of over-achievement through a failure to recognise your own shortcomings. I declare her Queen of Chavs, like Princess Diana but with more gold chains and a Burberry cap. Or did Diana have one of those too?

And what's happened to the big Scottish chappie from the Orkneys or Shetlands or the Island of Dr Moreau? Isn't he a celebrity now?

Cameron is almost universally hated on this forum. I personally don't mind him because I've virtually never seen him again since he won, and he was admirably forgetable. His gruesome brother is more of a celeb up here in Scotland as a presenter/DJ, having done better from Cameron's BB win than Cameron.

The worst offenders are the most loathesome simply because they won't go away -Brian, Kate, Jade, Michelle, Stu-pid, and Nadia - despite having no careers to speak of.

Ah, you're Up There instead of Down Here. It's true, Cameron had the decency to fade away once his fifteen minutes were up.

To tell the truth, I don't mind Jade so much because

a. the newspaper campaign against her was wayyyyy over the top, and they deserved to fail
b. she's done better than Kate, who had an opinion of herself far in excess of reality
c. she patrols the 'celeb' magazines, with which I have no dealings, so I don't really see or hear her.

More than the individual creeps, it's the general decline that's interesting, as they've gone from 'I wonder if this'll work', through 'let's try it again' and 'let's try to up it a bit' to 'we can work 'em like puppets - ooops, no we can't'.

Or so it seems to me.

That was clear the moment the vile Marco stepped into the BB5 house - he knew exactly how to play up (even when he was still on his own), and we knew from that moment it was going to be a formula based "freakshow by numbers".

Don't get me wrong, I find BB highly entertaining - it's just when these sad sacks wander out of the house and think they have personalities or careers that it all goes wrong... hence we end up with gormless fools like Stu-pid making a complete and utter **** of himself on the Weakest Link and Nadia's desperate Christmas single going straight into the Bargain Bin at Woolworths, marked down to 49p.

I was with you until you mentioned the Goody. All I have to say to your a, b and c is yes, fine, dandy even, but should this ****** be earning zillions for being the stupidest person in England? What is the fascination? What is the entertainment value? What, most importantly, is the point of the Goody?

My head is hurting now. That Dutch fireman has a lot to answer for...

(Are the X Factor threads any good? I've not visited 'cos I know I'll get sucked in and, frankly, I can't afford to spare the time... But I'm a bit partial to G4 in an ironic sort of way... 'Hit me baby one more tiiiime')

you're right jj.The hms go on BB for our entertainment. They then leave the house under the illusion that they are multi talented and can turn their hand to anything.BTW you've been very generous expecting Nadia's single to sell for 49p.I reckon they'll be giving it away!

The really appalling thing about Nadia's single isn't the assumption she can sing - it's the sheer lack of effort put into it. The whole thing must have been put together in ten minutes. What a waste.

All I can say to 48Crash and john-john is - don't watch BB in future.. that way you won't get so attached and emotionally reliant on the z-listers that inevitably emerge from the show.. Please don't get so stressed

The X-Factor stuff is more relevant to my previous experience, so they are for me - and it does tell us something about what pop music might be, if only by illuminating what it isn't.

Jade is famous for being famous - it's that simple. She doesn't 'do' anything, but the way she didn't just survive the vigorous attempts to daemonise her but came out smelling of media roses was worthy of admiration.

Where'd be the fun in that? Moaning is about the only true English sport left, and it requires dedication and a punishing training schedule. Shows like BB are vital in keeping our performance up to scratch.

Trashcan, you must learn not to get so attached to me and emotionally reliant on my posts. What would happen if I fell under a bus? Perhaps you shouldn't read Digital Spy Forums in future as they get you all stressed.

I'd like to see you branching off with opinions that are independent of mine - you only seem to post when I do. People are starting to talk.

You should start a new thread:

"Trashcan : Ruminations from the Bin"

or

"John-John - My Part in His Downfall"

or

"Michelle: How She Makes My Life Better"

and let's hear some original stuff from that cheeky wee handsome face of yours...

I don't know... but I've always pictured Trashcan to be cute in a gruff sort of way, and there's this definite love-hate chemistry thing going on with us. I think underneath that grouchy exterior there's a real softie.

Lee from Blue is to me cute enough looking, but very much like Stu-pid - he has a dense, charmless lack of intelligence or personality which completely ruins it.

If we're talking proposing to boy band members, I would have to build a time machine, go back to 1999, and grab big Mark from Another Level. Now that was one piece of talent.

Stunned, you mean.

I wish Mark from Another Level was appearing in panto so that I could go and gawp at him, but unfortunately he married that Amstrad guy's daughter and is rich now, so minor z-list celebdom isn't for him.

*Sigh*
