Haha!

A grip would probably make a better pet than our cat. He's part of our family and we like him and etc, but he's not into cat things like moving or playing or purring or being stroked or any of that.

I had two rats when i was little, one of them was a vicious little thing, bit me twice and they can make some deep cuts! He got better as he got older though. He died of a tumor when he was a few years old and the other one died a few weeks later, of grief?

Tbh i just thought it was hillarious because my stepdad was terrified of them and i used to chase him with them. (I think my dad knew my stepdad was scared of them when he bought me them ).

Are you sure he's alive?

No of course not, I have a Rabbit whos damaged by owners who mistreated him in the past, but I wouldn't say hes a "Crap Pet" because he won't let me pick him up or hug him sometimes. All every pet wants is love and companionship. I honestly don't know where I'd be without my current pet, said Rabbit. Just having him there has helped me through some rough patches in the last year of my life.

I've had a few rabbits which were like that. I know a few people who have had crap dogs which were boring or just stupidly aggresive, when all you try and do is look after them or make a fuss of them.

Anyone had this sort of problem?

No matter what you do, if a pet decides it wants to be crap it will be and there doesn't seem to be anything you can do, or is there?”

While I wouldn't call them "crap", uh, the goldfish we had as kids weren't exactly exciting. You can't stroke a goldfish either. Hamsters are the much the same, interesting for about a week, after that, they get completely forgotten about especially when you have to clean them out and other unpleasant things. Funny how kids can blot such things out from their minds eh?

Cats and dogs are are user friendly.

Theres probably a deal of truth in that. Unfortunately sometimes parents get pets for their kids without any thought as to how it might turn out, often badly. I don't believe anything was done with intentional malice in our case. I can say this though, there no way we would ever think about owning any of those pets again though because we're clearly not suited.

If it bites then they haven't handled it enough at the beginning to tame it. Hamsters shouldn't bite and all that food will shorten it's life.

When you say for no reason, how about "there's a predator in the room, I'd better warn it off"?”

they did handle it a lot, it has always bitten, perhaps it wasn`t handled much before they got it, i don`t know.

regarding overfeeding the clue is in "while no one is looking".

the one that bit the cats ear off was aggressive.

my own crap pet was a cat from the shelter that had to go back because it used to hide and attack [seriously attack, not playful]. it also used to jump in the pram [even when i was pushing it] to try and attack the baby.
