Just-Eat

Has anyone used this before to order takeaway food online? Any good?

Yeah, its pretty good. Takes away the hassle of phoning through the order and delivery times are about the same.

Yeah, we've used it plenty of times. We've never had a problem yet.

If that's the one where it lists all the local restaurants, I used it for the first time last week.

I found a local Indian restaurant that also do deliveries, put my order in online and a message came up saying that my order had been 'sent to the kitchen and is awaiting authorisation from the chef'!

Anyway, chef accepted and the meal was absolutely delicious, fast and delivered by a smartly dressed man!

I don't know why the restaurant itself couldn't just take the order.........unless Just Eat make money out of them first?

Good service. Once you join you get emails with offers eg "10% off any Chinese order this weekend."

I'd never heard of JE until 2 days ago and then 2 threads about them.

Yeah, it's great. Or terrible, depending on your POV. Don't have to leave the house, don't even have to have cash on you to get food delivered.

Just because the fast food place has signed up to JustEat doesn't mean they stop taking normal phone orders... its just another method by which you can make orders... and yeah, JustEat charge the takeaway for being part of the site.. probably some percentage cut of each order made

Ah, I love Just Eat. I've found loads of good takeaways near me that I would never have even noticed before. Good website.

Found the most amazing italian restaurant thanks to this site just down the road from me, driven past it so many times and thought it was just another pizza shop. How wrong could I be? Me and my boyf regularly order 3/4 course meals from there lol. Great site :-)

They are both great here, far better than ordering by phone.

We use them loads. Especially handy if you have no cash on you as it saves a trip to the bank machine.

Aye... use Just-Eat, Appetise and HungryHouse when I'm having a takeaway... depending on which takeaway I fancy using (they all seem to be with different operators) and which of those sites happen to have a discount voucher valid at the time! The 25% off one through MSE a couple of weeks back was good.

Oh lol, I placed an order an hour ago and didn't realise that the place had shut down two years previously. I still got a confirmation e-mail and a telephone number and they are somewhere 10 miles away. Hope they find me, i'm starving.

Yes been ordering from them for a couple of years now they are fine. Remember your order isn't down to them its down to the place you're ordering from. They are just a middleman between you and the place you're ordering from.

I actually rang the number to double check if they had my order, and they do. It was due 10 minutes ago though but i'll leave it a little longer as it's a Saturday night.

Never had a problem with them.
I'm guessing takeaways use the service so they don't need their own payment system on their website. Many local takeaways wouldn't even bother with their own website.

I like the fact that you don't have to use the phone. You can select the items you want and also add notes about special requirements with your order.

Hungry house website is ten times better to use with better features (such as splitting the bill) but just eat seems to have more restaurants.

Can't believe you think that even phoning a Take away for them to deliver to your door is hassle

Heh by hassle I don't mean effort.

I just mean hunting around in the phonebook or online to find a suitable nearby fastfood place if you don't already have a number.

With them you just give it a postcode and it tells you everywhere close by

Yes, you must be right. Now I think of it, my order came with a menu. But I'll still prefer to order online than speaking to someone over the phone.
