Wireless setup - if you work this out you are a GENIUS !!!
OK.
Here is the riddle : I have a : TV - has 2 AV sockets. Xbox. DVD recorder - has 2 AV sockets (TV and Ext). Sky Digital box - has 2 AV sockets (TV and Ext) and it is plugged directly into TV aerial. What i want is this : I want to plug all 3 into my TV. i originally had it so that the Sky went through the dvd recorder and into the TV so that i could record Sky. My Xbox then plugged into my Sky so that my surround sound could just stay on the same audio input and as soon as i turned my Xbox on it would flick from Sky to Xbox. I now want to be able to watch Sky on the Main TV and send "normal" TV wirelessly (via the DVD recorder) to a second TV in the bedroom. I had the VL1200 but this doesnt work as you have to plug in the DVD and the Sky into 2 separate AV sockets leaving no room for the Xbox (as the spare 2 on the dvd and the sky are connected to be able to record Sky). how can i set it up ? If you work this one out you are a better person than me. Will the VL1400 do it? If not i am going to have to resort to plumbing the main TV aerial across the flat and hard wire it into the TV in the bedroom (as there is no socket in the bedroom)

There are two answers to this one...........
the VERY simple idea for 'normal' TV in the bedroom is to get a prtable loop aeriel...........well, you didnt say anything about routing DVDR pics....... the more complicated answer will reqire more thought........... |

........the more complicated answer..........
Sky box: TV AV to DVDR EXT DVDR TV to Television AV1 set all to RGB this enables you to record from your Sky box to DVDR, to play DVDs and Get RGB on both. Connect RF aerial to DVDR RF in DVDR RF out to TV RF in this enable terrestrial viewing on TV or recording to DVDR while watching/viewing digital. connect surround system so that you have a bit more control over sound sources, can switch between TV, Sky, DVDR as you wish. what about using a 2 way scart box, disconnect one of the scart cables from the digibox, plug it into the 2 way scart block, then plug that in the scart socket on the digibox you just removed the cable from and you will then have a spare scart socket to plug in the wireless video sender.

Firstly, thanks for the advice. BUT Quote:
........the more complicated answer.......... This wont allow me to get a signal into the bedroom as that is what i had before and with the Wireless receiver plumbed in can only EITHER Sky box: TV AV to DVDR EXT DVDR TV to Television AV1 set all to RGB this enables you to record from your Sky box to DVDR, to play DVDs and Get RGB on both. Connect RF aerial to DVDR RF in DVDR RF out to TV RF in this enable terrestrial viewing on TV or recording to DVDR while watching/viewing digital 1. Watch ONLY what is on the TV but with Xbox connected OR 2. Watch Sky or Normal TV WITHOUT Xbox connected (only 2 AV sockets on my Xbox. So i think it is going to have to be : Quote:
to get a prtable loop aeriel
I have had one beforee and it was crap, but this time i am in a higher flat, so fingers crossed.PLUS i have spoken to the missus and she now wants rid of the wireless kit. Apparently 8 plugs, 4 scart leads and 10 speaker wires looks UGLY round the back of the TV. i said to her, if i can watch what i like in the bedroom with someonething else on in the lounge .... then it aint ugly. Hey Ho. Ta for the help, much appreciated.

You havent really described what signal(S) you need in the bedroom. The video sender idea suggest that you want more than just TV?
If you only want TV try with a protable aerial. If you want DVD buy a cheap DVD player. If you want Sky go for multiroom and leave the 'plumbing' to Sky. Rgds, Scorp. |
