Bean Sprouts - how to do them?

I sprout beans - mung etc but do not do how to sprout the big white beans they sell in supermarkets.
OK - so what beans are they and how do they get them so big?
I buy them but as I am the only one who eats them I end up binning half of them as they go slimey so quickly and I hate to waste food.
I wash them and keep them in Lock and Lock boxes but they still go off quickly - what do I do?

Thanks

Freeze them.
They are usually good for a month or two in the freezer. After a while though when they defrost you get the slimey smelly stuff again.

Thank you so much for that advice - I freeze everything but thought that as they were so water based they would be awful when I took them out of the freezer

Will give them a go tomorrow,

I think to get them big you need to grow them in the dark. Also, according to Wiki keeping them under pressure will make them grow larger.

They should last for a fair while in the fridge - maybe you store them too wet?
A way around wastage maybe to grow smaller batches

This is a good site with shedloads of ideas of what to sprout

I quite often do chickpeas, green lentils, pinto beans and aduki beans as well as the standard mung beans.
As you can see from the link theres lots of others to try - quinoa, sesame, wheat...
