Dissapointing that poland russia gone for various reasons. However I feel the h2h decision is poor although more of shoshock factor. We could yet have teams qualifying on 3 and failing to qualify on 5

Not disappointed Russia have gone, it just frustrates me when teams have the talent but not the work ethic or fight to win, they deserve to go home.

The head to head promotes having to win every single game against every opponent. I think it's a good thing.

I think this has been quoted to death in the threads on both the games but, hey why not start a whole thread about it

Goal difference would probably make for a more exciting climax but I think head-to-head is fairer.
For example, when we played Sweden there was still a lot riding on it for both teams, chances are it was always going to be tight. There's bollocks all to play for them against France, they go one down, why would they put the effort in? I'm not saying Sweden will do that, but some teams will just roll over when there is nothing to play for. |

France could monumentally screw Sweden on Tuesday. How would that be fair on England and Ukraine when they were in a more competitive mindset in their games? |

That's got nothing at all to do with the argument of head to head or goal difference though.

The head to head is there to differentiate when teams dont win every game, it makes getting positive results more important than stuffing 6 past the shite side of the group and playing for a draw against the other teams. I approve of it. |

Yes, it just goes to show England must not become complacent during the Ukraine match.

Remarkable outcome that just adds to the competition IMO. Greece are shite but are though, Russia looked great after the first game but are out.
The fact that my mate was crowing about his big Russia bet at 22/1 after the first game and has now gone strangely quiet is just a bonus!!! |
