Im surprised none of the people that review phones dont take this most usefull feature into their tests as it could save people hours each month if you are a business person and are on the phone all the time! |

Another thing they should consider is people with phobias or allergies. Having 3 year old twins you will appreciate that it's not always easy getting them to open up to new foods or ideas. However, if you purchase the correct phone you can gradually introduce them to Blackberries, Apples or Ice-Cream Sandwiches. Maybe I should patent this idea?

On another note has anyone factored in potential cost savings with regards to screen protectors now that iPhones can be used almost entirely by voice alone. With fewer touches these babies are bound to last much longer. At roughly £1 a piece on ebay you might be able to save almost enough for a slap up McDonalds over the average length of a phone contract. Quids in !

Why do fanbois think that sales volumes are evidence of quality? So based on sales; today the best phone in the world is the S3, later in the year the iPhone 5/4SS/newIphone will be the best?
The irony is that Apple fans forget that the same arguement would have to apply to PC Vs Macs. And whilst I am in grumpy old man mode- who cares how aesthetically pleasing the latest must have is? Most phones are so fragile that they have to be encased in silicon. And screen protectors? WTF? I could understand people using them in the days when we had had resistive screens but in these days of capacitive screens that have the accuracy of playing a grand piano with boxing gloves... perhaps they are purchased by people that wear condoms over their wellies. |

I guessed that but I do know iPhone owners that use them, mind you I know an android owner who swears blind that the solar charging app he download works.... The saddest part is that he is a technician...
Most smartphone users aren't that smart and too many think that apple invented the smartphone |

just reminds me that actually using a prospective mobile as a phone is not something I've ever seen tried in a phone shop before, which is a little silly isn't it?

There is little difference apart from freedom, availability of software and functionality.
Funnily enough, a company looking to garner favour from Apple recently claimed fragmentation is stifling Android. However, looking at their data it appears to have wildly backfired in that it shows that Android is fast becoming the developer choice by miles. http://www.zdnet.com/blog/burnette/f...-question/2571 All logical and might well be showing that 50% of IOS projects are semi-banned at inception. |

You have a good point there. Apart from hardware improvements (gyrosocpes, inbuilt GPS etc) there is little that you can do on a current handset that you couldn't do on a Windows Mobile phone back in 2004(ish). |

Yep those 300Mhx X-scale CPUs sort of did the biz, even if starved by Microsoft of a usable browser and GUI.

Agreed, out of the box the GUI/OS was pants but you were free to reflash with community improved ROMs. HTCs truFlow and sense made the navigation of the resistive screen very finger (or finger nail) friendly. |

Methinks the OP was trolling, he knew that posting such a statement on this forum would kick off arguments between Apple and Android owners

I was never able to justify purchasing the HTC phone that could even run Vista that was released shortly after the first iPhone. I don't care which phone OS people fall in love with but I do get bored of fanbois, especially Apple ones, acting as though their new shiny toy is revolutionary and moaning about how everyone elses fondle slab/fone is a clone. Seen it all before... |
