It makes sense - but it was going okay with Eva if you ask me.

I find them very dull as a couple to be honest. Nick is boring and Leanne is now boring. At least Eva was feisty and Peter had lots of layers.
I wanted Leanne to find somebody new, or focus on being a mother to Simon rather than dropping her knickers again. |

SPOILER ALERT --- this whole thread
So if Leane goes back to Nick, the bloke Peter hates how will that play out with Simon ? But then Leane has no job and currently lives in a Pub where the kid can have more access to booze than one screw cap bottle of wine. I really cant see Nick doing other peoples kids and I dont see Simon doing sharing Leane with anyone but Peter so it can only end well |

I find it believable, which makes a change in the realm of Corrie affairs.
At least the writing team are calling on 15 years of history - Leanne and Nick have been on, off, on off, off, on and then off again. I know people in real life who just can't keep their hands off each other one day and then hate each other the next ... and so the cycle continues. I don't find Nick all that interesting as a character, but then he never has been interesting. It's funny because he's as dull as his dad, Bryunnn Tilsley was. |

We need to remember that each and every character MUST have a girlfriend / boyfriend who lives within two doors of them so there isn't really much choice.

I'm glad though I doubt it will last. I prefer them together and would like to see them start a family but for some reason I predict Peter troubles ahead *yawn*

It may be boring to other people but think of how many other characters will be involved in this storyine alone. I think the reaction from other character will being back feisty Leanne.
Peter - WILL BE PISSED OFF - Simon interacting with Nick will drive him mad Carla - May feel insecure about Peter's response to them getting back together Simon - Will he get along with Nick? Ken and Der - Kept the affair quiet in the first place Gail - Always hated Leanne - some good clashes to come from this Eva - just started to bond with her sister and is in love with Nick Stella - might be forced to pick sides between Leanne and Eva Nick and Leanne being together could generate some good clashes on the street |

I was one of those who wished Leanne had gone with Nick back in 2010/11. Peter was always being a complete idiot, blaming her for everything and losing his rag at her, and Leanne was just being a passive, dutiful housewife rather than the strong, independent woman she used to be. And considering how much these two dominate the Corrie storylines, it got very annoying after a while.
I can't remember the previous Nick, so I'm in the minority that actually thinks Ben Price is quite good; he plays a rarity on the street, a suave businessman who isn't a villain. So I'm pleased with this plot twist, anything to give him some more screen time. |

I like that Corrie has be consistant with Nicks feelings for Leanne since the Natasha stuff in 2010. They have managed to let him move on to other people but the undertone of his devotion to Leanne has always been there.
I just want to see how Simon and Nicks dynamic will play out. I know people expect Simon to hate Nick the way he hated Carla, but I think the writers may take a different route with them. |

Remember Curly Simon said it tasted horrible anyway, so he won't be touching booze again, strange really because when I was a kid, if I tasted something horrible I didn't neck the whole bottle

You know there is some oedipus thing going on with the nick and gail. Gail, as a mother, has always been over possessive & interfering, with all three children. |

Well Gail isn't going to want her beloved Nick shacking up with Leanne and Simon. Lol you can see her digusted face already.
Does anybody remember what her reaction was when she found out about their affair? |

Guessed this was coming when Nick turned up at the hospital last week, didn't quite understand Peter's reaction to the though - talk about being a hypocrite. It's not going to be very stable for Simon though, living in a small flat above the Rovers with two warring sisters, unless Leanne and Simon move in with Nick and I can't see Peter agreeing to that happening. I agree, it should be good. Particularly looking forward to Gail's reaction. I think Nick will have more luck getting along with Simon than Carla does, though Simon still isn't going to be happy because he wants Peter and Leanne back together.
Spoiler
Peter made a big mistake not agreeing to shared residence. |
