HTC One X, battery issues..

I've had my One X for 4 days now, just upgraded from an iPhone 4, which wasn't the best for battery but I could get a full days use from it.

The battery on the One X is a nightmare. For example the phone was charged all night until 11 this morning. Now 3 hours later with a 45 minute phone call and some WiFi use I'm down to 32%. The phone isn't on full brightness and I have a battery saver app..

Are all One X,s this bad? As I'm under my 14 day returns, I'm otempted to return the phone and go for something else? I've heard the One S has a great battery life?

I charge mine once a day , I'm not a heavy user and it does use some juice but yours seems particularly bad . Having said that mine did seem to get better with time .

I've had a number of smartphones now and whereas once a day is the norm for charging yours seems very bad OP, take / send it back. Something seems not right.

Check the battery usage to see what is using the battery. It will give you a good idea where the issue is, usually it's screen and wifi being permanently connected. I get 2 days from light/moderate usage.

My One X is the same.

This has been a disaster for HTC, i don't know anyone who hasn't had at least 1 replacement. I know a couple of people who have had more than 5 (i've had three) and have read numerous accounts online of people having to return theirs.

Carphone warehouse had to recall all of theirs, Amazon stopped selling it for a while. I don't actually know anyone who likes their One X. Its good as a phone but all the hardware and software issues like battery life, wi-fi issue, multitasking issue etc... has really put me off HTC.

It definitely was not the one i've been waiting for as the phone said.

I'd return yours if you can and just get an S3. From what i've seen its a much much better phone. Btw, the One S is an ok option but if you want better battery life get a phone with a replaceable battery and just buy a replacement high capacity battery. I did that with my Sensation and the Anker battery from amazon. It got 33% better battery life than the stock battery.

Same here on One X - returned it due to terrible battery life, and the retailer even hinted (not said outright, of course) that I wasn't the only one who had experiences issues.....and here we are on the forum!

I've also spoken to a number of retail stores who have had high return rates on the One X.

to be honest though people will still buy HTC as it isn't a totally damaged brand yet due to the success of previous and current phones. (Desire/One S)

I use One X pretty heavily - but the battery doesn't seem as bad as yours...

When did CPW recall all of theirs? I got mine from them on day of release and not heard from them!

I've had no problems at all with my One X, much better than the iPhone 4 and SGS2 that I had previously.

Can you honestly say you're getting better battery life without turning down/off everything? Plus do you not find the phone overheating when streaming HD videos/excessive use. Or have any of the numerous hardware and software faults reported by every user. Also google screen flex issue as that is the most common one. If you can honestly say no to all those questions then you're one very lucky person as i'm yet to meet anyone with a One X which is 100% perfect.

We haven't had any of those faults (although I don't use it to stream HD movies) and certainly screen flex is not an issue with ours.

Apart from a couple of crashes in the first couple of weeks, I've not had any other problems at all. A few others I know who have the phone have also not had any problems, so I guess it is a slight exaggeration to say that every owner has had problems. Very happy with the One X overall.

I recently got a Sensation XE, It also horrible for battery life, My iPhone I charged all night, took it off the charger at 7am, when I went to bed at 9/10pm it would still have 40-50% left, This HTC turns off around 7pm

Get this battery from Amazon. I got it last year and man is it good. It won't extend battery life by 2 weeks but it'll give you a boost thats worthwhile.

read the reviews for a balanced opinion before you buy.

While were on about the one x what happens if the phone freezes and can't be turned off? As the phone has a non-removable battery I just wondered as with most other phone you would just remove & replace the battery and turn it on again.

You can just hold down the power button for 10 seconds and it soft reboots the phone.

Same for iPhones i believe.

I have also had no hardware issues with my One X. With light use I can get three days on a charge but I want to use it so just plug it in every night.

I got the phone for free so i can't really complain but the issues are so annoying that i really have no choice but to complain. I only got around 2 hours on screen time today when streaming a video and the phone got overheated. When using the charger to charge the phone and stream a video at the same time it stayed on 12-14% for about 30 minutes and then came up with a message saying the phone was too hot and couldn't charge and then actually lost battery with the charger still plugged in. All this just watching a flash video online.

Does anyone have a multitasking issue where for example you are playing a game, then press the home button and go on the browser for 2 minutes. Then go from the browser back to the game and it loads up from the beginning again. as if you've just opened it fresh.

For a phone with 1GB of RAM you'd expect it to be able to do something even low end phones have been able to do for a while now.

I hate to be that guy but i kind of have to be as this is nowhere near as good as my old phone which theoretically and technically should not be as good.

This isn't a fault - this is the way HTC do multitasking. They've taken the best part of Android and ruined it.

Exactly. There are so many other software issues on this phone which have ruined the experience for me. Not to mention the countless hardware issues which are being discovered even now. I'm looking at you wi-fi issue...

light use lol, that must mean not using it all, the battery on the one x is terrible, ive had 2 and it was the same on both, my gs3 is loads better

post up some screen shots of this 3 days use, i know you said light usage, but to get 3 days, it must have not been used much or at all
