Thanks Maybelle. I was wondering because someone who only joined a couple of weeks ago now has "Guest" underneath her username.

She must have decided to leave then. She didn't stick around that long...it's a shame.

Maybe the poster has gone on posting while waiting for the de-reg to come through (it probably takes a while from first asking)? Does that make sense

Poshun - the posts were made while the FMs were still active, and then after they de-regged all their posts change to show 'Guest' underneath.

Actually I'm beginning to doubt myself now

The Wizard was posting yesterday and said he was going to do a flounce. Later on his posts (although not all of them) had 'guest' under his username. That's the latest one I've seen, but he wasn't able to post after he became a 'guest'.

Its sad when they do that. Why dont they just log off for a while, maybe a few weeks or something and then see how they feel?

Because when they do that they get accused of flouncing anyway.

The standard pattern of action we take when users violate the terms and conditions is a warning > 48 hour ban > 7 day ban > 2 week ban > permanent.

'Guest' posters are users who have had their accounts terminated on their request.

Is there no 24 hour ban any more? I thought I'd seen some people back after a very short time.

This pattern is indeed followed at the moderators discretion. We may skip steps for obvious trouble causers (for example, a warning would become a 24 hour ban) or repeat steps if a long time has passed since the previous violation.
