Agreed. I love my iPad, but I do think that the rear camera is pointless.
I think a smartphone or a proper compact digicam is a lot better and more convenient for taking photos. Why whip out an iPad (or other tablet) to take photos at a wedding, or party, or holiday, or day at the zoo, or whatever?

MS Office is meant to be coming later this year.
In the meantime, there are various other productivity suites available that are compatible with MS Office files (Apple's iWork, Google's recently acquired Quickoffice), or you can use Google Docs.
The various iWork apps sync with iCloud, allowing you to access the files on different iOS devices, or via iCloud.com on any device or computer, or (if you have a Mac with the upcoming OS X Mountain Lion) on a Mac.
Quickoffice syncs with Dropbox, allowing you to access the files on different devices and computers.
You only need an internet connection to sync. You can save locally, and then sync with iCloud, Dropbox, etc. once you have an internet connection.
Google Docs of course is all via the browser, so yes it does need an internet connection.
As for an internet connection - my iPad is WiFi only. I have WiFi at home and at work. WiFi is available at many locations when out and about...hotels, coffee shops, McDonald's, pubs. No WiFi but really need the internet on my iPad? I just tether it to my phone.
It's
iPad, btw, not i-pad.
