I think if they wanted her in the first place they would have made her the full time judge. I don't think they would have changed their minds on just the crowds reaction.

I don't think there was ever any talks.

The Spice Girls should create their own reality show - The Next Spice Girls - for next year. Slot it between BGT and X Factor next year. All five could be the judges.

Then the following year do the same, but withh Girls Aloud.

Big hit for ITV!

As if VB would even contemplate doing that.

Anyway OP, Geri could have been in the running although it's probably more likely they wanted to create a stir and Nicole had accepted the job from day one. I'm pretty sure some of the candidates they mentioned (Katy Perry, Rihanna, Rita Ora) were never even considered though.

Didn't Perry say it was offered and she said no? Or was that for the US show?

They were actually given the opportunity to do a talent show to find the stars for their West End Musical, Viva Forever.

ITV's new take on the BBC's Lloyd Webber shows..

However ITV made it clear that they would want commitment from all five of the girls as well as Judy Craymer and Jennifer Saunders to be involved in the show....

It never came together.

she said nothing had been asked on paper or anything like that however at this point in her career she would say no because she has too much on at the moment, however in the future she would like to do it.

I'm in two minds about it. If they wanted her they could have signed her up at the last minute and she could have done the full audition tour. But the way she was speaking was that she already had the job (who she wants at judges houses etc), and The Sun & Mirror are usually quite reliable when it comes to X Factor with them printing she had been told the job is 'hers to lose'.

I would've loved Geri on the panel, she would have definitely livened things up but if they want the show more current then Nicole was the right decision of the guest judges.

I think Simon and the producers were always going to pick Nichole but had guest judges to get the auditions talked about more.
