I'm sorry, but I'm going to have to add Football to the list. Predictable I know, but I have not watched any girl TV for days thanks to the telly hogger! And as I'm not English I can't really whip up any enthusiasm for it

I agree, and to a larger extent, regular TV shows having to play "second fiddle" to sports programmes, especially if there is a major event/tournament being shown. As a sports hater I find this really annoying. I only have access to the 5 main stations plus Freeview and over the past week or so since the Euro football started there has been little if anything on TV of any interest to me. Not only that but during the next few weeks we are also saddled with Wimbledon, Olympics, cricket by which time the new football season will have started and then it will be back to Match of the Day back on our screens again! Please........ give us a break!

Oh, lots, but mostly little bits of casual misogyny and rape culture in the mainstream media. I try not to watch much telly because I seem to end up shouting at it and resembling this guy all the damn time. For example - NO, NO Desperate Housewives, casual sex is not a 'path' the inevitable 'destination' of which is rape, NO, it ISN'T, f*cking stop it now arrrrrgh you have no idea what you're doing. And NO, deodorant advert, women are not STRONG because they look stern and have babies and get tattoos. NO. STOP IT. Urgh you think you're so progressive. Look at all these size 8 perfectly buffed, waxed, coiffeured and manicured STRONG women, posing in such a hard-ass way in rooms with ripped wallpaper. We totally get you, feminists, and now you can be so feisty and fragrant!

It really is tiring being this right-on.

I would say on a daily basis, people who walk really slow annoy me the most. People who walk really slow, with a massive umbrella even more so.

People who create a thread they know certain users can't resist and then be on hand to start having a go at everything they post!

Threads asking what things annoy you when there are already many in existence! Then those of us who've posted on those previous threads have to repeat ourselves.

Exactly, I hate slim and pretty women. Well done, perceptive and insightful as ever.

Best link I have as to what rape culture is:

Shakesville: Rape Culture 101

It's long, but if you actually want to know the answer have a read.

I know I do take the feminist angle a bit far from most folks' point of view and I do get foamy in my day-to-day life which probably isn't healthy, but I've dealt with a lot of gender-related shit in my wee time which has made me hyperaware of certain things in society and the media. This is just a thread, as far as I can tell, to vent about what annoys you, and not a place for a debate about feminism and rape culture. IMO anyway.

You never see a slim and beautiful feminist do you.

What annoys me in real life? Jealousy for one. People telling others how to live their lives, because they think only they are right, people who think their issues are more important than the next persons, rude and overly aggressive people, people who think that they are open-minded yet in reality are the most closed-minded people going.

When women walk so slow in a store when you want to get past. Then they just stand there and won't move and when you go past no sorry or anything!

People who don't know how to behave in the theatre. I was at a play last night in the Gaeity theatre in Dublin. A woman in front got up as soon as the play started, clambered past a couple of people to get out, then came back in and clambered past them again, then spent about ten minutes texting on her nicely lit up and distracting phone until her husband finally arrived and also clambered into his seat.
Another couple in front spent the first half of the play behaving as if they were in the back row of the movies so the person behind them had to keep craning to see around them. Several people brought drinks in with them from the bar and the rattle of ice cubes as they drained the last drop of their pints resounded around the auditorium.
