T-Mobile low cost mobile data bundles

From 1st of July

Smartphone owners can pick 3, 10 or 50MB bundle for £1, £2.50 and £10, respectively - or 33p, 25p or 20p a megabyte. Each bundle lasts for 30 days or until the data has been used, whichever comes first.

For modem owners, the price bands are 3, 20, 50 and 200MB, priced at £1, £5, £10 and £35, respectively. Again, that's 33p, 25p, 20p and 17.5p a megabyte.

Looks like everyone is looking for brownie points before they're forced to lower costs.

Although looking at the costs T-Mobile will be charging it's not really cheap at all is it...

Maybe not for that one, but some of the others have dropped.

This is roaming, the OP posted the link and almost the exact same headline as the article except they removed the key word roaming. It caught me out to start with as I thought those rates were very expensive.

Vodafone used to include 25MB per day in Europe (up to 775MB per month) free on my old contract, plus 10 texts per day free and 75p + use your own allowance for calls.

That 30MB lasts just 24 hours. You can use the 50MB for 30 days.

For some people this would be more useful.

I used the 50MB for 30 days option whilst in Malta for 9 days. I checked email and used facebook and google maps a little every day.

TMO cost = £10
Orange cost = £27

If you go over your 30MB by mistake, you get charged. With TMO you get a message asking if you want to top up again.

If I use my laptop and need 100MB tethering for one day:

TMO = £20
Orange = £51.30 (30MB @ £3 + 70MB @ £0.69 per MB).

As a low data user, TMO is doing just fine for me. As a high data user it works too. If you are in the middle then choose something else (like o2, @ £2 per 25MB, who warn instead of charging you for going over the daily limit).

All these deals are examples of horses for courses.
