DS Next Top Artist: Series 4 - Live Finals show 8!
Good evening one and all!
Welcome to the quarter-finals of NTA!  Tonight our top 6 perform songs under the theme 'Maximum vs Minimum' - which they were free to interpret as they wished, but one song must be imagined and one song must be from the artist themselves! Really great standard this week! I enjoyed listening to all of the songs, and voting was pretty difficult. I really loved VW and The Maccabees though.
Also, I hope people enjoyed James' choices this show! I chose "Radioactive" as the maximum choice as it definitely has an anthemic, 'maximum' sound and I thought it was something a bit different for him but still very much James with the beat. And as for "Why Don't You Call Me", I thought it's a song that is basically James stripped back to basics and though it's pretty short it's one of my favourites from him.

HUGE commiserations to Jonsi and Luke! I've loved Jonsi in this competition and he has been top of my vote many times, so it's a shame to see him leave. Well done on getting him this far though!
And of course thank you to everyone who ranked James highly! I know I say this pretty much every show now, but I was totally expecting him to go out tonight so I'm pleased to have gotten him into the semi-finals. Well done to the other semi-finalists also!

THE SEMI FINAL!
The acts will perform two free choice 'get me to the final' songs - one real, one imagined! Songs in for Sunday at 5pm please, with semi final results on Monday night. Please note I'm away this weekend and won't be able to send reminders to send songs.

If I had to be eliminated when it came down to a final II like that, it was James I wanted to go too.
But, I was in the final 5, never has an act done this well... and I just hope my streak continues in NTGP (because my act is ****ing stunning.) I'm fully on the #JAMESBLAKEBANDWAGON now, but good luck to you all, it'll be fantastic =) I'll do a 'listen to these because you missed out big-time you horrible *******' list in the morning <3. |
