Cant help thinking this is bad programing, Eastenders hour special will be bang against the England ukraine game, whilst i agree that not everybody likes Football think this will rebound in the BBC,
Last friday when England was on bbc, itv didnt show Corrie , for the reason i assume that it would get very low viewing figures

Would expect Itv to get about 17million plus

Its not an hour long episode, its half hour til half 7, football doesnt kick off til 7.45 so your post is pointless.

ITV's viewing figures will rise substantially.

Sky + works well for me. Record EE, watch the game.

Lol, so why do you care about the potential loss of viewers, (assuming you had got the time right in the first place).

(Not having a go, honest - your change of direction just really made me laff).

If we didn't have catch up, or omnibus, I'd ponder over it more. I'm looking forward to us playing tomorrow night. We're in a good position and been surprised at some of the placings and shock results. I will watch footie live and go on BB player tomorrow night. You can't watch the footie replay but you can with a soap.

Depressing:yawn: this is so 1995 this statement....and it's not even true. EastEnders atm has been TOO lighthearted and needs togo back to the dark and depressing nature.

Anyway....in 2010 the BBC put EastEnders on at 7:00pm (on a Friday night) against England in the world cup and EastEnders won the slot with 5.6m England match kicked off at 7:30

Agree with that statement and not because we want it depressing, but because, for a long time, its lost its original focus which was to illustrate the Eastenders with the moans and groans but who always showed spirit and got along regardless. Too many kids has ruined that impetus and it's now all about modern day speak and traditions which are far removed from what we're used to. Take Fat boy as an example - the lad is so forced, it's insulting.

No they shown Emmerdale insted....EastEnders is a strong soap it has more ratings than Emmerdale so will do fine.

As i said in my last post this is not new from the BBC as they put EastEnders out on a Friday night at 7:00pm for the World Cup in 2010 and EastEnders beat England's Build up.

I dunno i like Fatboy but EastEnders has become a little too light hearted
Corrie and Emmerdale (of late ) have been far more gloomy and yet 'some' people accuse EastEnders of being depressing

No Vicars beating their dads to a pulp in EastEnders
or girl freinds beating up their boyfreinds

EastEnders has had too much focus on the fun/Light hearted characters of late (Fatboy,Kim for example) it needs togo back to the dark gritty storylines that EastEnders is known for,

And thankfully it is

7:00-7:30 tomorrow,8:00pm-9:00pm Wednesday and then Thursday 7:30pm-8:30pm OR Friday 7:30pm-8:30pm depending on which night the BBC show the match
they have first picks so they could possibly be showing another England Match

It does Dan but somehow managing to leave Derek and Phil out of it. I sometimes think that Easties have for too long relied on Phil to carry the s/ls. Ok, it's worked, to a degree, with Ben but it's starting to wear a bit thin now. I don't see the extension of Derek in terms of bringing his family in as anything powerful that will capture our attention and bring anything new to the party. In fact if we run through all the characters/families, where else is there to go without bringing in some new blood? I can certainly see how they're happy to have Sharon back.

I dunno there's plenty of classic 'EastEnders' storylines coming up The Murder Reveal,Janine's wedding week (This Week) the whole storyline with Sharon and the return of Ian is all EastEnders at it's best

Can't believe the Janine wedding/birth has come round so quickly. We can always rely on Charlie to deliver the goods (sure there is a pun in there) Yes looking forward to that and deffo looking forward to Sharon coming back but only wish Grant was returning too.

Na it's not. That Artice was posted on 12th June.
The BBC won't know untill once the England game has finished. The BBC has first picks on what games they wont to show and naturally they would want to show an England Game. I can see EastEnders being confirmed as Thursday myself
