I liked the scene where Joey had Derek fooled; he was drinking water,while Derek had the vodka. He let Derek drink until he got bladdered so he can take the reward money for accepting to engage in conversation with him to give to Lucy ha ha. He didn't even realise till Kat had told him. He doesn't seem to like someone being a match for him.
I do hope though that one day, Derek will show a human side to his son and show real remorse for beating his son's mother and walking out on his children when they were very young.
Joey was seven, so has a vivid picture of what happened in his past, although he wasn't old enough to understand the full story. Alice, I believe was only about four, as there's roughly a three year age gap may have been in bed at the time so she can not recall this incident and therefore is not mentally scarred by this, so she is able to give her father a chance.
I can see the contrasting views and I like both Derek's children.
