Adverts Since Google Play Update

Ever since the android market app has updated to the play store app I keep getting adverts on the scroll down menu on the top of my home screen on my htc desire s.

Is there anyway to stop these ads? I don't get a sound alert like I would normally would when I receive an email/text message I just get symbols like green stars and exclamation marks telling me I've won a car, update your battery, you could win this, you have won that etc.

Is there anyway to stop them or are they just part of the play store ap?

Are you saying that you are getting adverts in your notification bar? If so, that's not Google Play, it's the apps you have.

I have an app that keeps giving me notifications for sales on "coins" etc. It's annoying, but you just ignore it.

its probably not the play store but another app that is using AirPush. You can download an App called Airpush Permanent that allows you to opt out of these.

as mentioned, one or more of your apps is spamming you.

if you install Lookout Ad Network Detector and run it it will most likely find the offending app.

It not only detects AirPush but also

• AdKnowledge
• Admia
• AdMob
• Aduru
• AdWhirl
• AirAd
• Appenda
• Burstly
• BuzzCity
• Casee

• Smaato
• StartApp
• Tapit!

Leave a comment on the Play store for that app so that others don't get caught out. Apps that spam notifications are evil, in app ads are ok, but nobody wants notifications. They will get loads of comments and people will stop downloading it because the rating will be poor.
