Well...if the highest paid aren't the best....there must be something wrong... |

My eyes glaze over when her name is mentioned. So boring and one-note.

I don't get it either ...
![]() I made a comment on a forum on another site, about how she didn't smile much, for a minted lass with the world at her feet ... and I got torn apart in response! I'm guessing they were mostly young female fans, but apparently I was wrong and she's always smiling, is immensely talented and I'm a complete b*****d for suggesting otherwise. I didn't even mention her acting ability! ...which I don't rate by the way. I don't even think she was particularly good in Adventureland ... and as for Snow White .This is just my opinion BTW. I'm hoping the genuinely talented Jennifer Lawrence and Emma Stone will soon "steal" the honours as far as this accolade goes.. |

I've tried to explain this many times, but it never seems to get through to anyone. I'll try it one more time. When an actress or actor attends an event, such a premiere, many photos of them are taken. Websites such as Getty Images make this very clear. Lots of photos. Now with Kristen Stewart, she will be smiling in 90% of them. However, websites tend to only buy and publish the 10% of photos where she isn't smiling. That's why you get the impression that she doesn't smile often. It's not her fault. It's the fault of the people who choose the photos. |

I'm not quite that dopey ... .I do know how selective showbiz pap shots can be. (In fact, I have a mate from my old job, who does publicity shoots). The point I was trying to get across was the sheer amount of venom that was thrown at me, because of a mild (if somewhat childish) but good-natured comment. I don't care if she smiles, blows bubbles, or juggles cats when the camera is on her...if she's a good actress. I'm a big fan of Rowan Atkinson, but I don't throw a fit when people point out that he's a bit of a misery guts and tight-fisted in real life ... allegedly, Anyway, IMHO I think there are better actresses out there at the moment and her fans should be less touchy about her facial expressions. I don't hate her, I just think she is overrated. My opinion. Just saying ... |

She's a good enough actress to do what she does. She's no Meryl Streep, but then again, few are. Her fans will be less touchy about her facial expressions when people stop repeating the same old stuff about her facial expressions.

Aaarrghhh!
![]() Facts! At the risk of repeating myself ... 1) I don't hate her. I just think she is overrated and there are more talented actresses in the same age bracket. This is based ONLY on my opinion of her acting abilities. Not her "smiley-ness" or anything else. 2) By reacting in such an "over-the-top" way towards obvious digs, Kristen fans are easy targets for "haters" and "trolls" (of which I am NOT one BTW!) because it's such an easy button to press. 3) Lead actors/actresses of major franchises are always going to polarise opinions, and thrust them into the spotlight. For good (Financial worth, accolades) or bad (people having a pop, bad papping). Where you stand on that, is down to your own opinion. Again. These are just my opinions and i stick by them. If you think she is a good actress and disagree, that's fine by me. I'm off to watch "Winter's Bone" and "X-men:First Class" .. ![]() Not bloody "Hunger Games" though ...

I like her and I think she is a fantastic actress. Not sure if she is the best though.

I've seen her in a few things (Adventureland is good) and she's OK. I certainly wouldn't call her the best.

I don't think she's that good. When she was younger she was a great actress but somehow as she's grown up, she's lost all emotion in her roles and for some reason she. cant. say. a. sentence. without. pausing.
Makes it all unnecessarily awkward and slow, there's no flow. |

She was fine on the show. She simply had the misfortune of sitting next to the overbearing Chris Rock. Anyone would look sedate by comparison.

Only seen her in Into The Wild and Adventureland, but she generally makes me think all her movies are TV movies for some reason.

Well it's not actually - just because she's the highest paid doesn't mean she's the best. it means that studios realise she attracts a certain demographic and attaching her to a film will guarantee returns, so they'll pay top dollar.

Much of the reason that Kristen Stewart is a subject for attack comes from the fact that she's pretty "normal" compared to other Hollywood types. She's not an oddball like Johnny Depp. She's doesn't have the glamour of an Angelina Jolie. She doesn't have the perma-grin like Anne Hathaway. She's not a prim and proper actorly luvvie type like Kate Winslet. She's also not conventionally "attractive" in the typical Hollywood sense. It's also the reason Kristen Stewart is popular among teenage girls, who can relate to being socially awkward, ungainly and introverted, just like she is.

I heard this last night and must admit I just laughed. Having thought about it though I base the laughter on the small amounts of the Twilight movies I could actually bear where I mainly waited for someone to, please, just kill her.
Perhaps she is good in other movies and being wooden, bereft of life, and endlessly punchable is required for her Twilight character. |

Why does the thread say best when the article is highest-paid?

I find it strange why so many people seem to demand that Kristen Stewart constantly sport a grin. Maybe they want her to go to that backstreet surgeon that the Joker went to in the first Batman movie. |
