Monsters Inc is my favourite Pixar film, after The Incredibles and Toy Story.
Will definitely see this, but ...

It does seem bit strange that they're doing a prequel. I don't really understand the reasoning behind that...
The dynamics behind the Sully and Mike relationship worked so well, why go back to the beginning?

Would have preferred to see a sequel, maybe with a grown-up Boo or something ...

Oh well...

I don't have any kids by the way, so will have to brazen it out and pick a very early or late showing when it's out ...

I think it was one on the film's crew that said that a sequel featuring Boo as a grown-up would have been obvious and it kind of ruined the ending of Monsters, Inc where you saw Sully with a smile on his face when he sees Boo again and that would have made it obvious that Boo had become a grown-up.

Looks great. I wasn't totally keen on the idea of a prequel but after seeing all the build up and trailer I changed my mined. Cannot wait for it.
