I flipping love Jean from EE

I really do, fantastic actress.

She made me blub from the scene with Cora (Tanya's mum), fantastic and touching scene.

Are you serious? Jean is without a doubt one of the worst EE characters ever. A completely pointless and annoying character. The actress who plays her does seem good though, but the character is pointless now Stacey and Sean are gone.

Janine is good, they just need to give her a new sense of direction. I'm fed up of her being the victim.

I think she did a really good job tonight flushing Michael's necklace - she finally got through to him it was just such a shame she didn't record it because then everyone would know the truth. I guess they didn't do that because that was what Janine was going to do on Christmas Eve 2010. Would have been too similar

I'm more than serious!

The writers are making her look stupid at the moment, she is fantastic.

To tell the truth up to the flushing the chain scene, I thought she was recording him. Shame. Michael has no conscience.

They soften her for 5 minutes then harden her again. I agree, she is brilliant too.

You're right. That scene was so unexpected that it was really a shock to realise how moved I was. One more round, Jean!

I agree, she really stepped it up a notch! My emotions were changing so much in this episode! Scared when she was hidden under the table, cheering her on when she took the chain etc..

Gillian Wright is absolutely phenomenal playing Jean. The best actress in EastEnders if you ask me. I just so want everyone to believe her! It's so frustrating to watch but I'm gripped at the same time. Jean had me near tears tonight.

I wholehearted agree. She's a fantastic addition to the Slater family. Always has been.

Same here, just finished watching it, I was 15 mins behind (family keep talking to me!!)

I want to slap Michael hard, I want to hug Jean desperately. And most importantly, I want everyone to believe her. It's so frustrating.

I think Billy was spot on when he said Jean was the kind of person who goes to the market to buy a cow and comes home with a handful of beans.

But Jack climbs the beanstalk, just like Jean summoned up the courage to enter the ogre's den and confront Micheal.

And we all know what happens when Jack takes his axe to the beanstalk.

Timber!

Jean is a fantastic character and Gillian's portrayal is superb.

She can infuriate you with her stupidity and then make you cry all in the space of minutes.

Her scenes with Cora and Michael tonight made me well up.

I'm not a Jean fan, but the actress who plays her is excellent.

Me too! She is/was brilliant.
Hate what Micheal is doing to her.

The actress who plays her is one of the strongest the show currently has. This storyline must be the first big one Jean has had which hasn't involved Stacey and its been pulled off so Jean most certainly has a place in the show.

Agree on all counts. There's not a soap character I'd rather see find happiness.

I loved her tormenting Michael and then watching her humiliated again in the pub was painful on so many levels.

EE played a blinder tonight with Jean, it's almost worth having football on, missing EE then catching up in style.

I think she is absolutely wonderful at the moment. Because the thing that we must remember is that at the moment, she is NOT unstable, so it's not as if the writers are making her a 'token mental' character with this storyline, as she has actually been of sound mind throughout.

It is strange to think that this time last year it seemed like the best thing was for Jean to move on from the square, as much as I loved her. But now I am so glad that she stayed.
