Isn't Misha B just copying Nicki Minaj?

Well, her brand new single titled Home Run (view it below) has some very significant elements of Nicki Minaj's songs, the same high pitched shouting for 2 seconds is just making Ms B look extremely derivative.

Not really because you could say Nicki has copied Lil Kim and Salt & Pepper so its horses for courses.

I love Nicki but Misha is without a doubt the far greater singer of the two. Whether she has the success of Nicki is another matter however.

I haven't heard Misha's song so can't say.

OT But why is it these days everyone say "copied" If someone is influenced by another artist and it shows in their work why is everyone quick to jump and attack and yell they are blatantly copying? If that makes sense?

I did actually say she was being derivative which is very similar to influential but just a better word. Maybe i shouldn't of used the word copying.

I would say that Nicki inspires Misha's music but not copy at all.

As much as I like Nicki's album, she is a terrible live singer. Misha is not.

The picture with Misha's face covered in neon paint looked identical to Nicki's (btw I like Misha hate Nicki!)

I see desperation. Horrible voice posing as actual soul.

No. Because Misha can sing without a computer. The track is commercial but it does have Misha's 'flavour' about it. Personally it's not for me as the song itself is all over the place. But I do like Misha.

I don't think she's copying Minaj. She clearly is doing her own thing and Home Run is a pleasant surprise. I'm not a fan of the girl at all and never got the hype around her when she was on X factor but the song is good and her vocals sound much better.
If you really want to find close similarities with other artists then, Diana King come to mind when it comes to her vocal style and the song's structure as opposed to Nicki Minaj and in the video, there are elements of Rihanna, Kelis and Nelly Furtado.

I'd say she's more inspired by Missy Elliott than Nicki Minaj. But she's different enough to stand on her own two feet - for instance, she's a much better singer than Nicki or Missy, and will probably push that more.

This. She has a lot of west indian influences in her style and 'swagger' too. She's quite Grace Jones-esque in her style too. Nicki is influenced by Lil Kim. You have to look deeper at them all to see the differences. Nicki influences Misha somewhat, but not in a major way I don't think.

More likely to be inspired by Missy Elliot or Chaka Khan. Hardly any resemblance to Nicki Minaj as the talent she possesses is diminutive, therefore the gap of aptitude between the two of them is all very diverse really.

Hence she can only sing with the imperative usage of Auto-tune.

More Lisa Left Eye.

Go and Youtube Block Party. Nicki is a bigger rip off than Lady Gaga is.

I would say perhaps influenced but if anything, Misha B's new song is a poor representation of how truly extraordinary of an artist she could be. She could easily be a mix of Lady Gaga and Lisa Left Eye Lopez with her own originality throw in.

Thank goodness I'm not the only one to see this very obvious comparison.
From the quirky hair/costumes to the rap delivery, Nicki has clearly "borrowed" from Left-Eye. The huge difference being that Left-Eye was effortless and fresh in everything she did well over ten years ago.
Most annoying of all though is the fact that Nicki has never even acknowledged Left-Eye as one of her influences (as far as I know).

Yep. Nicki is a blatent theft. I cannot wait for Lil Kim to return as she will show peeps how rap is really done.

Misha B isn't copying Nicki. It's Nicki that copies other artists. Recently she's been screaming of desperation to become the new Gwen Stefani imo, with all her weird outfits and all that.

Misha B is maybe copying the same people that Nicki copies (e.g. Missy Elliott, Lil Kim, Fergie, etc.).
