Help....New TV.....New Surround Sound Setup
AussieLad

I have just purchased a new 40" LED television and a Xenta XForce surround sound system and have no idea about setting this stuff up.

I also have a PS3 which i will be connecting to all of this.

I know that the TV has HDMI sockets and 1 Scart socket and that the surround sound system connects via a sterio RCA cable. The TV has a digital audio output via Coaxial.

I Suppose my question is can i connect all this up and get 5.1 surround sound or will i need to get a new surround sound system?

Thanks for your help inadvance.

I am at a loss to understand how the Xenta can handle full 5.1 surround sound as claimed with only an analogue stereo input?

Looking at the specs of the Xenta you would get better sound quality from a typical budget mini music system. I suggest you have a look at what Richer Sounds has to offer in your price range.

True 5.1 requires a digital connection (s/pdif or hdmi). You can get some sort of surround sound from a stereo analogue source using prologic decoding. It's a poor relation to proper 5.1.
