Isle Of Wight Festival - Last Minute Tickets(Just for Saturday)!!
TVGirl319

After going to see Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers last night at the Royal Albert Hall(A kick-ass show!!) I am really tempted to go and see them at the Isle Of Wight Festival on the Saturday as they are the main headliners that day, but its cutting it a bit fine to try and get tickets, so I really need some advice as to where the best place is to go to get last minute tickets!!

Thanks!!

There's usually loads of people selling tickets outside Seaclose and they haven't all sold this year. My daughter bought one from from the ferry operator Wightlink just a few days ago. You could purchase one and pick it up from the ferry terminal.

I couldn't be bothered to buy a ticket this year as there is no one I really want to see. Might just go along at sit on the other side of the river to watch Bruce Springsteen on sunday as the missus likes him.

I could be wrong here, but I thought Tom Petty was playing at IOW Festival on Friday, with Pearl Jam headlining the Saturday night?

Whatever people decide to do, DON'T BRING YOUR CAR! The route from Ryde and Fishbourne to the camp site in Newport is so clogged that people had to stay in their cars overnight! Apparently it is because the car park entrances were bogged down and cars had to be towed into the site.

I feel sorry for the people who live in the vicinity of the campsite as they are unable to get out and/or get back if they do get out.

I have to go to my sister's house this morning which is quite near the site - I have a pass to get into the area. I will pass on any news about this as and when.

And Bruce Springsteen on Sunday evening. Plus my grandson's group, Naked Fridays, on the main stage at 11am, opening Sunday's concert! They won a contest (Wight Noize) for the place at the Festival.

They formed in February 2011 so have only been going for about 16 months. However, they all played instruments before at the Platform One Music College. They are all only 17! It has been intimated that they are to be signed to an indie label very soon.

Watched for half an hour but it was all gobby presenters and no bands. No sign of Bruce although we were told he was on and that they would show us a bit "later in the evening". How I detest that smug simpering name-dropping Whiley woman.

Naked Fridays played their set to a small crowd of about 50 people because the jobsworths on the gate wouldn't let the audience in for some obscure reason. However, it went well and because of the problem they were given another slot in the Kashmire Cafe near to the Big Top. This went extremely well by all accounts.

Me too - I don't know anyone who listens to her - she's an instant turn it off whatever it is. Guess she knows somebody who knows somebody.

Really peeved at John Giddings.

The acts he books seems to be his favorite American acts from the last century.

I've gone previous years but this year we have three American headliners.

Is it really so hard to find decent European acts?
