Digital Spy Forums & iPad ??

My netbook seems to be on the way out, and am thinking about replacing it with an iPad, I spend 95% of my time just browsing the web, and a large percentage of that time on digital spy forums Safari on the iPad doesnt have any adblock feature so im wondering the ads are really intrusive?

The Atomic Web browser has adblocking though, but does it work?

I just use Safari, I don't find the ads that annoying and it helps DS pay for the upkeep of the forums.

Just tried Atomic and the Adblock feature works fine.

I know.. but some of the ads are incredibly intrusive and have at times even covered some of the buttons for navigating and using the forums.

The ads are relatively unobtrusive (although sometimes animated GIFs) on the iPad as it doesn't have Flash. They tend to be pretty small and have never noticed them obscuring any of the site, as you sometimes get with the full Flash ads.

Yeah I think the lack of flash stops many websites being annoying as one of the biggest uses of flash is obtrusive ads.

Not an iPad I know, but my iPhone shows the DS mobile forums and the ads there are incredibly intrusive. Every page change on a thread brings up a full screen advert!

Does the iPad show the mobile or full site?

It looks exactly the same as on a regular computer

I use iCab Mobile rather than Safari, although I used to use Atomic.

No issues with the site.

It shows the full site, but you can get the full site on your mobile too.

I thought you had to manually select if you wanted full or mobile version at bottom of main forum screen.

Since last week digital spy automatically switches to the mobile version on my iPhone, but not on my iPad. Its really annoying. I can't see an option to keep it at the full version.

If you're on the mobile version, scroll right to the bottom of the forums and tap 'Desktop Site' on the purple bar.
