You can play PSP games on your tv using a composite cable. PSP graphics are inferior to PS3 games so I don't think it would be a worthwhile feature.

I would have bought a lot more PSP games if they had of been cross compatible with PS3.

I am glad Sony are starting to do this with the Vita
