Forever Sharp

Was in Morrisons 2day and a guy was demonstrating the 'Forever Sharp' knife. The in store announcer tannoied that every adult over 21 would receive a vegetable gr8er with no purchase necessary. So, even tho I am by heart a sceptic, I began to watch the demo. Typical 1980s selling technique; I was astounded, but not surprised, at the extent to which some people appeared 2 be impressed. Post demo, we got our 'free gift' - one of those steel jobs u insert into fruit/veg and turn it to slice the food - already got one! And a free citrus juicer which the guy priced at £2 - no way, it was a 50p plastic item. The price: £40 for one FS knife, which will be advertised shortly on tv. We were told there was nothing he could do about the price due to the upcoming tv promotion, but the company have allowed morrisons to do us a gr8 deal: a second knife for just £5. But that's not all; a third same knife free. So £45 for three identical knives, handy if there is a vegetarian in the family like myself. But, hang on, that's still not all. A paring knife; two knife sets containing 3 knives in each; 2 smaller knives and 2 plastic citrus juicers.
I had a loook at the knives and they were 100% aluminium, no plastic handles, which is what u want. £45 4 wot u get is a bargain but, I got 2 thinking, are they effective? So I searched Forever Sharp and Twin Towers Trading (company which owns the brand). While I read a couple of positive reviews from the USA, the negative ones were more common. The knives apparently rust and will not cut hard foods such as melon. If I were 2 buy a set, it wud be to use on frozen food; the guy said the knife wud do this but, when I asked if it wud cut a frozen cheesecake 4 my nan, he said he wasn't sure. Think I'll give these knives a miss.
Anyone out there got them and, if so, opinions please?
Thanks.

You want forged steel

After using a knive with meat you can wash it and then it will be suitable to be used with veg.

Being vegetarian, there is absolutely no way I would ever use a knife which had been used with meat, whether it had been washed or not.

I assume you buy vegan cheesecakes then, not ones made with milk - which has caused little unwanted male calves to be shot ?

You can get two or three decent knives from Tesco if you spend £45 or so. There are also knives out there with serrated edges designed to cut cut frozen food.

Is melon a "hard food" ??
I wouldn't have thought so.
By the way, the word "would" is spelt W.O.U.L.D. not "W.U.D."
