RedOne has just told a Swedish newspaper that he is working with Rihanna on two songs later this next week for her 8th album. Talk about overexposure.

Very likely studio.

For God's sake, no more tuneless accented whining about needing big dicks, girls in the club, a personal sacrifice and needing a man to do her right. Give it a rest for a while, love, the same old song is not fun to listen to anymore.

This isn't the first news we've heard of this....She has been in London recording with Nicky Romero, so I think a new single from her 7th album is definitely coming by the end of this year....

RedOne is interesting, Ri and Red have never worked together I don't think, so it will be interesting to see what they come up with if it makes the album....I imagine this album may have an even dancier sound off the back of We Found Love and Where Have You Been...

I am concerned however that she is overworked...she's churned out more albums in 7 years than Britney did in 10....she is working way too hard, and I think the public may start to get sick of all these albums and singles coming one after the other with virtually no gaps....the TTT campaign is hardly over and she's already on to the next one....but at the same time I'm happy for new music.

Oh Great!

She really needs to take a break, Def Jam must of hypnotised her into making more music.

Or just made it really easy for her and them to make money from shoving song after song under her nose...

What do you mean may get sick i was a massive Rihanna fan and her sub par rushed and frankly mediocre sixth effort showed me she has a general lack of interest or care for anything she creates this is a truly bad idea her material is already suffering and we are getting diminishing material and frankly most of the population would be happier for her to bugger off for three years i as a fan do not wnat more music off her until she actually puts in some effort instead of churning out generic and frankly average dross i cannot express how stupid this is what are her label playing at.

It's a little sad. Of course, as a fan, I'm happy to hear new music, but I really think she should take some time off. She won't sell so much whilst being away from the spotlight, but she can regain some strength, and make a killer seventh album, instead of spewing albums all over the place...

I personally think she needs to give it a rest, take a year off at least. Most people will just get bored of her, if she keeps banging out albums every second.

Recently she has also worked with:
Nicki Romero (at least two songs)
DJ Nasty
David Guetta
Sia
Flo Rida
Bonnie McKee
and now RedOne

Could be ready for October lol

I've said this in other threads before, but I think she should wait until 2013 to release this album and release a Singles Collection this year with one or two new songs.

The Beatles released an album every year throughout their career so it's not unusual. Having said that I'd rather Rihanna take some time out and release a quality 7th album than one as mediocre as Talk That Talk!

The difference is Beatles albums involved three great writers and performers creating a cacophanous cauldron of experimental, ecstatic fusions.

Rihanna albums are one Bajan chick with an American lexicon over samples and synths with all the complexity of Protools demos.

You might as well compare The Fat Duck and McDonalds.

I don't think releasing the 7th album this year is a good idea and I'm a massive fan. I kind of want her to release Roc Me Out/Watch N Learn as a summer single and then Drunk On Love as a winter single so the album keeps selling and to end the era properly because imo, TTT is a fantastic album but there's been a lot of mistakes by her and her management.

She can then release the 7th album in summer 2013 and then begin the world tour she was planning for 2013 a few months later.

She needs to take some time off desperately.

I think she should release a GH this year with two singles then do the TTT tour all next year.

I'm excited for a new album, but if she does this, she either needs to:

a) not release any more singles from Talk That Talk, so she can have a couple of months gap
b) wait until 2013 to release it

I kind of want her to carry on with this album for a while longer, because there's so many brilliant un-released songs on Talk That Talk still!!!

I'm disappointed to hear she's working with RedOne though. He's the worst producer out there at the moment. All his songs sound the same. I hope she changes her mind on this.

I like her music but I'm getting really fed-up of the constant exposure. Take a day off, woman!

I love Rihanna but I find the problem with me is like when a artist announce a new single/ album there is excitement and a build up to the launch, but that has gone with Rih I remember last year when we found love was about to debut I had zero interest luckily for her it turned out to be a good song!
I'd like her to take time out and actually put a little work into her next album herself rather than just record whatever is thrown at her. For me TTT era was a big let Down apart from from WFL.

I don't think its a bad thing bringing out a new album each year in theory. Back in 1960s and 1970s bands/singers were bringing out new albums just as much but I do think in Rihanna's case that a Greatest Hits is a must right now as she has released like 30 singles! just think of how much money a GH is going to make for her!

I don't think she'll release anything this year. She's kicking off her tour in 2013 and her label is going to stick with the strategy that helped 'WFL' smash : release the lead single just a month before the tour's last date. If that's their rationale, then the single won't be out before spring 2013, which is an adequately good break for her.

I don't get why everyone thinks she needs a break? It she feels ready to make a new album surely she should just get on with it? I don't think Rihanna would be the type of person to be pressured into it anyway.
GGGB/Rated R/Loud were all done a year after the last so why does it matter if TTT is just average?
