Yep, that as well as the argument that it's not really all as important as many people like to make out on a handheld device, especially one with a dedicated touch screen.

Yes, I'm almost certain we are getting dedicated accounts for the Nintendo network but I'm not sure when that will happen, with full games coming to the eStore in a few weeks I would think it'd be soon.

A DS Lite charger will NOT with the 3DS, but a DSi and DSiXL charger will work with the 3DS.
I doubt a seperate charger will cost that much. £10-£15 at a push.

The adaptor thing doesn't bother me as I still use my DSi XL charger for my 3DS and we have 2 3DS's in the house anyway so not short of chargers, but it does seem a bit stupid to sell them without chargers.

Trading in will be impossible unless you're prepared to lose all your purchases, so as soon as it comes out there will be a gazillion 3DS's on eBay once everyone has transferred their stuff over.

That said, I am quite excited about the screen size..
To be honest, don't think of it like that, or you'll never get a games console.
In 2 years time, they will release an updated 3DS with some other fancy bits and pieces. In my opinion, I don't think you got ripped off at all. It makes you a loyal Nintendo fan. Don't feel pressured to get a new upgrade each time it comes out.
I only get one console per generation. The next time I'll get a Nintendo handheld is when they release the successor to the 3DS, which could be a long time from now.

You don't quite get it do you. It's never going to happen. If it was, then it would of been now.

It's a very different machine to the Vita, why can't people just accept that? If you like action games that rely on twin sticks then surely the PSV is the better choice.

The 3DS has sold what 15-16 million ? There not going to add a second analogue stick. This would be pointless, either Developers implemented the use of the second stick more and left all those millions with only two options, play the game in the way the developer did not intend it too, or buy the new redesign.

I really like the look of this model. I've already had two, one at launch I sold then regretted so bought another one. I think I'm tempted will have a look in-store to see how the bigger screen effects the visuals.

I consider the Circle Pad Pro to be like the Original DS Rumble Pak - an optional extra that you can use with certain games which was phased out with the later models.

I will be getting this, I currently have a DSi XL, but I wanted a 3DS from the moment they came out, but I didn't want to lose screen size, so to see this announced has made me very happy, I doubt though I'll be able to get one before my holidays in August though, but its on my to-buy list.

Will my DSi XL charger work with it though?

I don't recall mentioning a vita. Technology moves on all the time. We'll see.

Looks like a nice step up from the original 3DS. I'll definitely be picking one up when the white version is released over here!

Add me to the chorus of people who wanted a second analogue to be added on there; it's like the PSP all over again. I never want to go back to playing stuff like Monster Hunter, Katamari or The Third Birthday on one stick.

Apparently my local game station is doing it for £89.99 trading in a DSi. I'm not sure if it'll be the same for the XL. The girl in the shop didn't have much info.

I see what you're saying, and I agree generally, but the only reason I bought a 3DS at launch was because I really wanted Animal Crossing as I never dreamed it wouldn't come out til 2013! Don't get me wrong, I love my 3DS and have few games: Mario Kart, Super Mario, Zelda, Pilotwings etc, and have enjoyed playing them but I wouldn't have bought a 3DS at all in the first place if there wasn't a new Animal Crossing game.

So yesterday was a double whammy really, finding out there will be no AC til 2013 and the 3DS XL news, with the benefit of hindsight I would have waited for the XL and still had time to spare before the release of AC so that would have worked better for me.

As I have already said in this thread I am going to buy a 3DS XL.

Today I will Pre-order one in Blue/Black.

I will not be trading in my current Aqua Blue 3DS because I need to transfer my software and downloaded eShop games and Demos as well as the Free Nintendo Ambassador game that I was able to download for free.

I guess that Nintendo Video, Eurosport and Nintendo Letter Box will be able to be downloaded again on the 3DS XL from the eShop.

My sister is going to be getting my Aqua Blue 3DS.

I have been looking online to see which online retailers have the 3DS XL up for Pre-order and they all have it up for £179.99 with free delivery.

So I have narrowed it my choice of online retailer for Pre-ordering a Blue/Black 3DS XL to either of the following.

Play.com
Shopto
Amazon
Game

Shopto does have it for 13p less at £179.86. And this is what Shopto web site says about delivery.

If you pre-order Nintendo 3DS XL Blue & Black Console before 12pm on Thursday 26th of July 2012 we will guarantee that you will receive it by the release date of Saturday 28th of July 2012, if you do not receive it we will compensate you with £5.00 on your shopto account.

What online retailer do people recommend for Pre-ordering a 3DS XL?

And if you are going to be Pre-ordering/buying a 3DS XL what colour will you be getting?

And will the 3DS XL come with the AR Cards that the current 3DS did?

Do you know how much Shopto are charing for delivery? I pre-ordered off Amazon.co.uk and it costs just over £7 for expedited delivery. How much would delivery cost from Shopto? No complaints about Amazon with pre-orders yet. I pre-ordered the Sonic Generations: Collectors Edition and it arrived on the day of release.

Any case I pre-ordered the red+black model. I would have liked Nintendo to put the red on the inside of the device like the old one instead of being all black.

ShopTo don't charge for delivery and they also deliver really fast. When I order something before 5pm I usually get it the next day.

Apparently ShopTo DO charge, a whopping £23.99 for TNT Next Business Day Non-Mainland delivery. So those in Northern Ireland or Isle of Man who wants to pre-order a 3DS XL or Wii U from ShopTo, be warned.

I live in Tiptree Essex which is in Mainland England.

So I think that if I Pre-order a Blue/Black 3DS from Shopto then the postage should be free. I hope.

I can't decide to go for the red or the blue! Probably wind up with red though as I like the red 3ds.

It is, and they've never failed me before very good service. If prices had not become less competitive i would use them all the time, Sometimes like in this case not so bad most cases there prices are rubbish now.

I finally Pre-ordered a 3DS XL in Blue/Black from Play.com.

But I still have a few questions about the 3DS XL.

Does the 3DS XL come with the AR cards like the original 3DS did?

And where can I buy a case for the 3DS XL?

My current 3DS zip case will be too small for the 3DS XL.

This is the case that I currently have.

http://www.play.com/Games/DS/4-/1883...rlrefer=search

I would like to get a similar case for the 3DS XL as I really like the case that I currently have because it has space to store game and the 3DS has not got flimsy piece of plastic protecting it.

GAME, Amazon.co.uk, Play.com and Zavvi.com all have a 3DS XL price consensus - £179.99

That's a shocking price, taking VAT into consideration we are paying £45 (a third) more than the USA (which comes with the charger that costs £20 here), even companies like Apple don't mark up by as much as a third.

It should have been £150 max with the charger as at that price it's more expensive than the PS Vita which costs a lot more to make and 50% more expensive than the current 3DS (that comes with a dock)
