Just thought it would be useful Ive kept Katya there cos the women look hardly anything there.

Useful... however Id also add the heights the female pros are with their heels on... that gives a better indication for relative ok heights for pros with male celebs...

Flav for instance becomes 5"5.5 with heels.

Artem doesn't look around 6 ft - to me he looks slightly shorter than Pasha! See them dancing side by side in this pro dance!

I think Artem's more like 5'9". When they put the pro's heights on screen for the botafogo challenge, I remember thinking one or two had to be wrong. Maybe they measured them in their latin shoes

Yes if Pasha is 5'10'' then Artem is more likely to be around 5'9/9.5 which is one of the reasons why last year the Artem/Holly pairing didn't work! I think she was about 5'8'' - so in heels even taller and her height and body shape just over powered Artem!

I don't think Brendan's around 6ft2. I'd say 5ft10-6ft at a push.

Using Holly as a yardstick, Brendan looked taller than Artem.
It obviously does not work when a man has to look up to a woman, but a much shorter girl would induce a man to dip his head or lean forwards which does not help partnership presentation .

Yep, that's what I reckon, and that's probably with him in his cuban heels as opposed to in flats!

Pasha wasn't as tall as I expected him to be when I met him.

Or else someone could just tweet all the people we are not sure about and ask them!!!

Artem is 5ft 11
Brendan is 6ft 2 (he had Lisa Snowdon who was 5ft 10, if he was 6ft then she would have looked taller than him in heels, also I think his height is listed as that either on his own website or on the Strictly site)
Robin I would guess is 5ft 9 or 5ft 10, given Anita's height

Natalie is 5ft 9 (was on botafogo challenge)
Ola is about 5ft 4 (see Robbie Savage - was same height as Harry Judd)

Karen's height was about 5ft6 in heels, but definitely not in flats.

Like I said, really don't think Brendan is that tall! Perhaps that's his height in the heels. I've met him a few times and really don't think he's above 6ft.

To me Robin looks taller than Artem - I just find it hard to believe Artem is 5ft 11 given that Pasha's height is listed as 5ft 10 and last year Robbie Savage looked taller than Harry Judd

Well considering Ramps was 6ft - I think she could well be that height normally. I guess it would depend on how she measured up against Claudia when they were on ITT together, as CW is 5ft 5.

Also, on the show Brendan has danced with Natalie and Camilla, who are both 5ft 9. If he were 6ft then they would look about the same height. There's also been an article saying that he is a foot taller than Lulu - Lulu is 5ft 1.5 so that would make him 6ft 1 / 6ft 2.

Artem is the same height as James and Anton, who are 5ft 11 (I remember this from the botafogo challenge last year)

I checked Robbie and Harry's heights last year and they were both down as being 5ft 11.

Robin I'm guessing is 5ft 9/10 due to mainly the heights of Anita and Kristina, who are both around the 5ft 3 mark (there isn't a definitive answer on the net for Robin's height so have to guess for him unless we find out via ITT this year).

Karen is not 5ft6. I have met her numerous times and she would be that height in heels only. (Hate having to go down the 'oh I've met so and so route' but needs must!)

I think heights are deceiving as dancer's often carry themselves a lot better than 'normal' people so it makes them look a lot taller, and TV also makes them look taller than they really are. I'm sure anyone who's met the pros will tell you that they look a lot different in the flesh as to what they look like on TV.

I think some of the heights given are in heels and others are without heels.

I guess what I was trying to say is just because a celeb/pro height is stated as such on websites and profiles it doesn't necessarily mean it's correct. To me Artem just does not look nearly 6 ft - I posted a video early in the thread of Artem and Pasha dancing side by side and IMO Artem looks slightly shorter than Pasha - Pasha is stated as 5ft 10. Then there was his pairing with Holly last year in which she looked slightly taller than him in heels.

Thank you *Topaz*! That's what I've been trying to hint at! If you've met some of the pros, you get a rough idea what their heights are in flats/heels up against the height that you are and I think some of the heights are incorrect and others are in flats/heels and therefore can't really be taken as gospel!

I'm around 5ft3 or 4 in flats and the majority of the female pros (not all) are also around this height. The only male pros to me who have ever really felt very tall are Ian and Matt with the others around the 5ft8+ mark.

I think Robin's similar height to Artem or maybe a tad taller .

I'd be surprised if Kristina was even 5'3! She looked miniscule when I saw her after DttM recently...

Normally I have a look for a listing from IMDB - they tend to be pretty accurate. If there's lots of listings, then I'd say the height that's most frequent is probably the right one. Artem was down on the botafogo challenge as being 5ft 11 (I remember thinking that he didn't look as tall as Anton and James, but if that's what ITT say it is then they're probably right).


Yes a few of the female pros are about that height (Flavia, Kristina, Ola), with Aliona being slightly taller than that.

I tend to go by what ITT say or the pro's own website. Pasha's height of 5ft 10 was on a BBC press release. Vincent's was seen on an article about Flavia.

Some of them are also on the official Strictly website - I would take these to be correct as well.

The only male that I am unsure about is Robin. I'd say about Brendan, let Lisa Snowdon be a guide to that - she's 5ft 10 so unless they look the same height on the show, Brendan has to be a fair bit taller (I've seen various stuff with him being 6ft 2, but I'm happy to be proved wrong).

I rechecked Karen's and she's down on SCD-related sites (including Ultimate Strictly) as being 5ft 6. If you say she isn't having met her then I'll take your word for it - I will say that I didn't notice much of a height difference between her and Ramps but I did think she was pretty short.

Maybe we should get ITT to do a feature on this?

Ramps was also pretty short when I met him, I think maybe again..5ft10ish? I think some of the BBC tape measures might have been up the spout haha!

Wonder if some of them have fibbed about their heights too.

I'm sure heights always crop up just before Strictly cos of the possible pairings although nowadays, the height gaps don't seem to worry the producers as much as they did (Lulu and Brendan for example..) whereas they used to try and match them a little better (although..Fiona and Brendan was another oddity, in more ways than one! )

Ok laurab88, I had a look at one listing that was from here, and Karen was down as 5ft 4 on there. That seem about right? I do apologise for being wrong earlier but there were just so many listings saying 5ft 6 that I thought it must be right

I'll check on Brendan, Artem and Robin, I wonder if the appreciation threads on here have anything on them.
