I had a delicious meal last night of fillet steak with crushed new potatoes dressed with truffle oil. Ive been meaning to buy some, but where's the best place to source it? I do realise it can be quite pricey, but I'm happy to pay a reasonable amount.

Thanks

Thanks for that. Also spotted some truffle butter which also looks interesting.

Don't buy the cheap stuff, about as much truffle in it as there is vanilla in vanilla essence.

Indeed! I am sure they sell bottles at borough market, think I'll have a look next week.

Wow! I'd so love to be near borough market! living in South Wales, I have to visit an Asian store that's a few miles away, it's great but my hubby becomes bored as I wander around the aisles! plus he never thinks we need what I put in the basket.

I love wandering around Asian food stores and looking at all the weird and wonderful ingredients. You need a new shopping partner!

I haven't been to a store but have spent a long time browsing though the online stores and most of the stuff is dried or jarred and will last for ages in the cupboard.

Just have to wait for a time when I can place a big order to save on the p&p

This truffle oil is from Luigi Tega in Umbria...http://www.wychwooddeli.co.uk/grocer...ffle-oil-100ml

Their oils are fabulous - great olive oils too.

Hope this is helpful..
