He was one of the most witty, intelligent and kind man I ever 'met'
We all met 5 years ago on the 'ST*U' Carole thread, the red faces then were all over the place. I think it won the 'Funniest Thread' award, 2007, Balders was a major part of it. We continued long after that (We still have a 'SUC' thread in chatter)
Yes his rantages were legendary, but also he had his soft side, Fluffers (started after his obsession with turnips, I put a knitted Turnip under his pillow, 14th Oct 07 and he grew from there ) He would help anybody and was always there with a hug or words of comfort if someone was in trouble.
I feel privileged to have known him.
RIP Balders, my friend, there is a big gap where you once were. xxx

Made me laugh out loud. A true friend who I wish I had met in the 'real' world. I will miss him so much.

I've been out and got the Stellas in. Tonight I celebrate his life

R.I.P. Balders, ,no more Horse Piddle visits, no more Fluffers and you never did get that job you so really wanted.

Condolences to all you Family & Friends you will be sorely missed.

And we all thought you were on the mend as well, things seemed more settled.

You're at peace now, a life lost with so much more to give and that had so many more years to give it.

----------------
Lord, as we mourn the sudden death of 'Baldrick Phd', show us the immense power of Your goodness and strengthen our belief that he has entered into Your Presence. Amen.

It's just not fair, mate. Life was never fair to you: you were a highly qualified engineer and then the shipyards closed down; you got diabetes. But the fun you took in life never waned. You had many decades of life ahead of you. No, it's totally not fair. Why you? You wouldn't hurt a fly.

Lurkers will never be the same again. This is a fact. Everyday you'd pop up and entertain us. You were one of the most likable people I've met on the internet.

I always proceed on the basis that the internet isn't real life. But I've blubbed today. Bless you, and thanks for being on a certain long-running thread.

My deepest sympathies to all of Balders' loved ones.

This place will be far poorer without the presence of this good, intelligent, witty and compassionate man.

RIP Balders. God bless you.

Yes. And another fact I happen to know, there are many people crying for real up and dowm the Uk, (I'm one of them too) and, indeed outside the UK, such is the sort of person he was.

I was deeply saddened to hear the news of Baldrick's passing. A FM who was for many here more than the contents of his posts.

RIP Balders

Thanks for this Sad - I hope Balders somehow knows that this is how we feel. Thanks also to SR for starting this thread - Balders so deserves a proper tribute from those of us who read his words with a smile.

A genuinely good guy, intelligent, warm - with a grumpy edge! He accepted the hand which life had dealt him with such good grace, between the rantages - and it's too cruel that his life should be cut short at this point.

I hope there's plenty of Stella and cake wherever he is.

Dear Balders, your fiercely keen brain, wit and appetite will be greatly missed. You were truly a lovely virtual friend and I'm guessing a pretty good real one.
How the hell will the kebab and stella shops cope...yah big lug!!....whatever a lug is....of course in scotland and toonland it's an ear...not that you were a big ear of course.....that would just be daft. Though....you really did know how to listen/read people....so it would be apt.
^^...see that's the sort of weird shit you make people write. Fooksake! Normas xxx

A gentleman and a scholar. I still think often of our exploding hedgehogs, of our badges, or the gingham we "decorated the barracks in" (virtually of course).

Balders and Fluffers. There aren't even any words.
