My deepest sympathies to Balders' family and friends, in real life and on DS for their sad loss of a lovely person too soon. I will miss his visits to Antarctica and his posts, a mix of insight, humour and outrage (especially at any suggestion of dancing).

Rest in peace Balders.

Thank you SR for this thread.

Oh yes, the dancing. We are going to, at some point, when it is less raw, have a tribute disco night for him. It will include punk, GnR etc but the obligatory disco tune which would have brought out the red snilies. Probs in the SUC thread in chatter, and it will celebrate him rather than be sad. TBA. Jeeeez how that man touched so many people. He is a legend.

I would like to think Balders and Fluffers are now able to visit all the places that the "holiday fund" didn't quite stretch to, with of course cakes, kebabs and Stella for the journey.

Sincere condolences to his family, friends and everyone that knew him on DS.

Goodnight Baldersx
What a lovely post............my biggest regret is that Balders didn't have a clue of how highly he was respected amongst his DS friends. He was a very humble guy & would never have believed how much we really did care for him, & the wee neep.
Life wasn't fair to him, he so wanted to get a job & travel - the work place has lost out on a very intelligent hard working guy.

Awwww mazey you made me smile at that, that & the thought of his rantage at X-Factor/The Voice etc. participants. 'Fooking waste of time', in Balders opinion.

I bought a condolence card today to send to Balders mum & family. I was going to send it tomorrow on behalf of all his many DS friends, primarily from Lurkers/Antartica & the Suc ers thread.

It says on the front.........With our Sympathy........on the inside it says.......
Although there's nothing we can say
To take away the sadness of this time,
Our hearts go out to you and we want you to know
How much we care.
With Heartfelt sympathy.

Hopefully in the weeks/months to come it will bring his family some comfort to know how much we cared for him too.

He was an inveterate and interesting poster on BB, partly why I joined DS. I am sad to hear of his passing . He will be missed Im sure greatly by all his cyber friends. Much more so by his nearest and dearest so my thoughts to them this evening and I would like to think in time they can take a teeny crumb of comfort from all of us " out there " who cared.
