I love Leona (although am not a huge hardcore fan where I know every little thing she's up to) however see that she is performing at the weekend.

Is there some new material out/coming that she's promoting? Is she playing a full set or just 1/2 songs? I really like her and think she'll be brilliant.

She's rumoured to be performing for 40 minutes, so hopefully she will perform around eight songs.

BBC three tomorrow I think. Check the listings, I know I've recorded some of it to watch Kasabian but I don't know what time she's on.

Just out of interest, why did it stop being Radio 1's Big Weekend?

Because it's kicking off the celebrations for the Olympics which are mainly in east London, and Radio One (because of this) have set up an academy in Hackney which works with kids on having a future career in the music industry, and they picked the Hackney Marshes for the location - so all of this made it 'Hackney Weekend'.

It's only for the one year, then it's back to the Big Weekend next year.

Ah ok, thanks for clearing that up!

I can't wait but it maybe clashing with Jessie Ware (another great artist with some nice songs), so I maybe opt out for 1 or 2 songs.

Almost (if the outdoor stage stream opts out for BBC Introducing that is) all acts including Leona's should be airing in full on the Hackney Weekend website. So if you don't want to miss out on any songs on BBC3, the website will be the main place to watch.

I have a feeling she'll perform two brand new songs.

I hope she performs 'collide' and 'run'.

I was also wondering if she may do a Whitney Houston cover as a dedication to her, not sure why I thought that but it would seem fitting.

Really? I think it would be redundant and a waste of an opportunity to perform a new track. Given the time that has passed since Whitney died, it would just seem a little random.

Doing a Whitney cover wouldn't win her any new fans either, when everyone's waiting on her new material.

Yeah I agree, it might be fitting for her own concert, or at an actual tribute (one of which is 'unannounced' for the BET awards actually when Leona is apparently heading to LA), but not for a festival - I think the chances are she'll perform Glassheart and possibly another new track... I'm not expecting anything more than Glassheart for now though.

Watching her right now on the live stream shes really good ain't she haha
She's performed Come Alive a new track it's really experimental and different abs love it! Shes sounding amazing and loved her Man Down/Better In Time mash up.
It's nice to see her so much more confident she's really interacting with the crowd, before I always thought she was really boring but she's coming across really well!

Ps I completely forgot she covered Run until she performed it there now lol

Leona was "ok"
She failed miserably to hit the high notes. I felt she wasn't giving it her all. I felt like it wasn't the girl who i saw rise to stardom on X Factor with her powerful voice plus i saw her tour and she was amazing.

Plus her set was a bit short. A few more new songs and a few albums tracks from her past two albums wouldn't have hurt. But the new song she did sounded amazing and i was really impressed. Her mash up of Man down and Better in time was great as well

I haven't watched it as I'm not a big fan of Leona, but maybe her voice is tired...

She was meant to perform Glassheart, a new song, but Collide was put in last minute. I find with the X-Factor she had to prove herself every week, like a vocal showcase.

While i understand not every performance an artist gives is ever amazing, i thought for someone who hadn't been really been active in the music world, she would of really pulled something out the bag and reminded why the public fell in love with her. Oh well.

I do agree with you though, she does dodge notes sometimes and it would've been nice on this occasion to see her really go for it. I'm really impressed with the new track so I'll let her off on this occasion aha

I've just been watching on Youtube and thought the whole thing was kind of "meh" myself. It was nice to see her performing again though. She really doesn't perform enough.

I'm not sure about Come Alive. It didn't grab me like I hoped it would. This, combined with Collide, makes me very unsure about the Glassheart album. I really hope I'll like it, but I already have reservations which isn't good.

I saw Collide first and that along with her new look made her look a lot more confident and interesting!

But after I later watched her whole set, I wasnt so sure

What was the stage design all about? Other than that she still has a really good voice, and Bleeding Love & Run will always be successes that no one can undermine
