Angie and Den had the first one didn't they - based around the infamous "I've got 6 months to live" storyline... well it was really a four hander I suppose if you count Roly and the window cleaner!

There was the Dot & Ethel one where they were talking about growing up in war time. That must've been around 1988.

It wasn't 88, it was when they were doing the euthanasia storyline!!

Kat and Zoe have had more than one

Den and Dennis

Sharon and Dennis

Den and Dot

Kat and Alfie

Andy and Kat

Pat and Peggy (That was class)

Frank and Roy

Phil and Kate

There have been LOADS but I can't think!!

Didn't Michelle and Sharon have one resulting in Sharongate??

That was the second one - Phil is right, Dot & Ethel had an early two hander reminiscing about war times. It was one of the first and very well acted

Those were the Portugal episodes and they were 2 handers yes but it did involve a couple of other characters and obviously Kate because it was Phil reliving it.

Was the Den and Angie one the first-ever two hander in a soap then? they seemed to become the norm after that.

Didn't Phil and Grant have one in a hospital after Grant beat him up for sleeping with Sharon?

I don't think that's quite what Jmac meant!!

I really don't think Dot was involved in that - at least I hope not

EastEnders has been doing two handers for many years.

They've also started doing four handers too!

Phil-Dennis-Den robbery three-hander. Actually, I think that was the most recent good or atleast the last gripping episode of Eastenders I can recall. You can't really include some old pathetic security guard, the police or Sharon at the very beginning - it was about 27 minutes of Phil and Den mainly.

Personally I dont like two or three handers in any soap. I think its often used as a lazy way of covering up missing bits in a storyline

I have to admit..I did like the Den and Dot one..well acted and emotional. One of the best episodes this year.

The Kat and Alfie one was rubbish..just that orange whore mouthing off as usual..
