Ever brought an album, liked it and then went extremely off it a little while later

I am experiencing that with Alexandra Burke's current album. Gone off it so much, it's now up for sale.

I generally only buy albums that I know in advance I either like the artist or have heard favourable reviews from personally reliable sources, so it rarely happens for me. However when I bought Only By The Night by Kings Of Leon I was quickly trying to get rid of it. The more I listened to it the more I thought it was so inferior to their previous albums. But it sold bucketloads and people seemed to love it so maybe it was just me.

It was the same with me about Will Young's latest, Echoes. It really wasn't my cup of tea at all. Such a shame as I was looking forward to it. However he has done well with it so it is obviously just me!

Ellie Goulding - Lights

I still listen to the album every so often, but I went off it very quickly for some reason.

Agree about the Ellie Goulding one....the tracks do start to grate after a while. Another is Diana Vickers - Songs from the tainted cherry tree. I only listen to "The Boy Who Murdered Love"

Rihanna's Talk That Talk is a big one for me.

Also

Madonna MDMA
Lady Gaga The Fame (it's aged like crazy in 3 short years).
I agree with Alexandra's Heartbreak On Hold, liked it, now hate it.
Britney Femme Fatale is another one.

MDNA, Born To Die, Roman Reloaded, Talk That Talk, Femme Fatale.

Conversely, I was so disappointed by 4, Ceremonials and Watch The Throne at first and they grew on me so much.

I agree about Alexandra's 2nd album. I don't dislike it or anything, but I just don't have the urge to listen to it at all after 2 weeks.

Marina's TFJ also. Now I love this album, but I can only listen to it once in a blue moon.

Really? I actually think The Fame/Fame Monster still sounds great and so much better than Born This Way.

Usually with albums I get sick of I just sell them if its in CD format. Easy cash

An album I instantly went off was Future Sex/Love Sounds.

It's really reassuring to know that folks here are going off albums by some of these pop stars whose music I hate so much!

If enough people go off them within a short time then their careers implode. Sweet.

I don't think I've gone off any albums, just played some to death and put them away for a while.

Really? I thought it was a pretty good album. I like that it was eclectic and unpredictable. I actually liked most of her songs that werent singles a lot better than the singles. Casualty Of Love, Abracadabra, and Rainbow are all great songs. Those should have been the singles.

Lady Gaga- Born This Way
Katy B- On A Mission
Rihanna- Loud
Pink- Funhouse
Scissor Sisters- Night Work

And as for Jessie J Who You Are a truly bad album even some of the singles were dire wasted purchase lost faith in her.

I was the complete opposite of this.
Hated it when I first got it, but I got the re-release bought for me for a gift so I gave it another go.
Love it now.

Sugababes - Sweet 7

Can remember at the time of release I did play this album quite a lot, but tbh I've not played any of those tracks on it since its release
