Chuckys back new straight to dvd sequel in the works
http://m.ie.ign.com/articles/2012/06/24/new-childs-play-sequel-curse-of-chucky-coming-to-dvd
Not sure what to make of this really but at least its another sequel before the inevitable reboot comes along. The last movie seed of chucky was terrible but this new one that wants to go back to the horror aspect sounds interesting im in favour of the classic chucky look maybe his soul could be transfered into an old unused good guy doll since its probley gonna be set before bride and chucky was mashed to bits in 3 this idea works best The creator is still writing and directing this so maybe this movie will be done with some passion behind and it wont be just a rushed piece of crap hopefully |

Surely if they are skipping over the last few sequels to make this new film take place after Child's Play 3, they should bring Andy back too, not some random family he happens to be sent to. Perhaps it's Andy's family and they are gathering for Andy's mothers funeral and the actor who played Andy in 1 & 2 could return, or maybe even Jusin Whalin from CP3 could return?

Justin Whalin please no I thought he was terrible LOLThe plot idea sounds good the more I think about it it will be interesting to see how they set it up as chucky has never just gone after a random person/family before its always been his goal to get andy except for bride they could use a dusty fading looking good guy doll with small cracks around the face |

I don't expect a lot from straight to DVD films, but I liked all of the Chucky movies and if Brad is doing the voice again...
Surprised we aren't getting a remake though, as it would be a nice little money maker because of the name. Would be cool if they could get Hicks, Sarandon and Vincent onboard - none of them can be that expensive. Especially as by the time this comes out it is 25 years since the original. A replica of the original doll would be nice too. |

Child's Play was a surprisingly neat horror movie, not restricted by excessive gore or nastiness and driven by some solid performances. The sequel was ok but pure cash in. The third was poor and even bigger cash in. Bride of Chucky was comedy horror that came out at the right time. Seed of Chucky cashed in on that. It became a light weight franchise in the aftermath of Elm Street and Friday. Suitible for those (namely young teenagers) who wanted something a little more tame and comedic when compared to the hard edged slashers of the time. Chucky became an icon because the guy who voiced him is a first rate actor. |

The first childs play was ok..but the thing with chucky is hes not scary in the slightest...and this is from someone who is scared of vintage dolls .
If chucky attacked me i might initally be freaked out that he was tallking but then i would just smash him to pieces |

The story, the vibe, the atmosphere etc. Others horrors worked brilliantly for me, such as Elm Street, Friday 13th. But Childs Play seemed a bit too silly to me. |

He was clever at doing it in the first one too He never really made his prensence known then started chasing teens like say Freddy, jason and micheal And were suposed to belive as chucky is in the doll longer hes becoming more human So should be abit strongerthan a doll lol Its really cool to watch his transformation in the 1st movie you can really see the human features coming through the doll as the movie progresses the designers did a fantastic job Sure the sequels are questionable but name one slasher franchise where there not LOL |

My brothers and sisters used to nickname me Mum Chucky. She's small, had that hair and when we heard her little footsteps coming and see that shock of hair we would shout,'Chucky's coming.'
Me poor Mother. We were right little shits. |

Would be good if Perrey Reeves returned and perhaps she goes nuts and kills Jeremy Piven! , but seriously cast is key to this working and getting greenlit (even as a dvd straight to asda).

I thought 1 and 2 were good films, but 3 was cringe worthy. 4 wasn't bad, but it had become a horror comedy franchise by this point. 5 is downright awful. I imagine 6 will also be, and then the remake of 1 will probably be terrible too.
