Replacement landline phone

I am going to purchase a new phone. What I want is caller display (backlit), last numbers received, outgoing phone directory, probably an answering machine. Good sound clarity and amplification.

Having looked at a few - surprised there are so many, I am reasonably impressed by BT Inspire 1500. Has anybody here used this, and their thoughts on it? Also is there another model that people think is the 'bees-knees' ?

Thanks.

Cheap ones can be found in Argos www.argos.co.uk
Other High Street or Department Stores are also good

I do not know of any very dear one or any "bees-knees" phone that are/is available, you just have to have a good look around for yourself and decide which one is better

Have a look at Panasonic from Argos .... that's where we got our 2 Dect phones from and have had no problems, I think we paid £40-50 for two handsets.

I agree go for Panasonic they seem to be the best quality. BT phones in my experience look nicer but develop faults too quickly (the newer ones).
