I find it interesting to be watching this, how much the show has changed. The first televised auditions were held in Leeds

Wow haha.
Really wierd seeing something so far back, You could see that Sharon didn't give a **** about Steve from day one hence why she called him a piss head ahaha, I must admit its wierd cos all the songs are so dated and it's like cant they sing something more modern when obviously not haha. Obviously we know how it's gonna end up but I hope that Chenai does well (is that the same one who made it through a few years later?) |

If G4 isn't featured in this episode, I'm not interested!! Will watch the LIVE shows vids where I know they were definitely around!! LOL
They were the most talked about act of that year...best thing Louis ever did when he picked them for the LIVE Shows IMHO....despite Simon's obvious dislike of them!! |

I'd forgotten how bitchy Sharon was
I'd love for her to come back, though she got a bit too bitter and mean towards her last series. I laughed at loud with her and the girl with the violin.Really interesting to watch this back. I would LOVE for it to go back to this format. The audience auditions just aren't as enjoyable for me and never were. Also a little something I noticed, they managed to show 12 featured auditions (and by featured I mean shown more than a single line in a montage of clips) in an hour long show. Out of the 12, only 5 got through (1 of which was a joke act). So the rest were deluded contestants/joke acts. They were really heavily featured back then! They can barely show 1 bad contestant these days without the PC brigade jumping down their throats. Not that I'm complaining, I do find them tiresome these days, but it's interesting how they got away with showing so many back then and no one blinked an eye. These days you'd be lucky to get 6 featured auditions in a 75 minute show. I'd love them to cut the amount of time given to explaining contestants backstories in order to show more contestants! Not a single backstory was told in that episode. Anyway, just my two cents

I miss closed auditions. They were so much more fun to watch.

Interesting, I didn't realize the X Factor auditions were closed, much more like the AMerican Idol auditions, and it seems like they were acappella also.
