Don’t think they have anything to worry about – they just know developing a new3 screen type is expensive so would rather share the costs rather than going alone…and Sony will be hoping this partnership works better than the one with Samsung.

More to the point, Sony will be hoping to make money instead of losing it on their tv's. 7 years of loses must be taking it's toll. Perhaps it's time Sony pulled out of the market.

Don’t see why they would want to if they think they can turn things around – quite a few of Sony’s different parts are being looked at to see how they can be made better and I expect this announcement is all part of it.

Sony have already sold OLED sets, but only smaller ones (like every one else until now).

Certainly both Sony and Panasonic need to do something if others are releasing large screen OLED sets.

Of course it will worry Samsung and LG. Competition is always a problem all companies faces. Well, the outcome is always unpredictable. Currently, LG is ahead right now with its OLED. Any one check it out? It is off the hook
