The producers desire more hopefuls to behave like Frankie Cocozza
It's a conspicuous indication that Simon Cowell still doesn't care about true talent after all, I've assumed this theory would come over 2 years back anyway.

' “But he had the right idea. Pop stars don’t stay in and ‘work on their vocals’, that’s just rubbish.
“They go out and get trashed and fall out of nightclubs. ' Erm, I think whoever said this is confusing pop stars with big brother and TOWIE contestants. Even singers that you do see coming out of nighclubs work hard on their vocals and rehearse for their performances - they're just not photographed by the paps when they're doing it. Plus, I don't think anyone sees X Factor contestants as 'pop stars' until they start having success after the show. Maybe it's just me though

If this is true then the producers have lost the plot!!
People like Frankie are the LAST thing we need for the show to improve!!!! Is Simon really trying to kill off the X Factor UK? What the show needs is another Leona Lewis not another Frankie Cokeupthenozza. ![]() Why are the producers trying to turn the show into a mix of Big Brother,TOWIE and Made In Chelsea?

Didn't work last year had two controversial characters and it did nothing in terms of getting the raitings higher people have finally got bored of controversial characters after all the rubbish the producers pulled back in series 7.

It's just irresponsible in my opinion. The show is arguably idolized by the majority of the teenagers that watch it and encouraging contestants to 'go out and get trashed' is giving the wrong impression.

People like Katie Waissel/Jedward/Wagner are fine as they work like pantomime villains but Frankie Cocozza was constantly in the paper for his drinking, sex and drugs and I think he made the show seem, for a family show, not very family friendly. |

You forgot to mention pestilence, war, plague, and the world financial crisis which clearly had its origins in Malvern. Or maybe not eh?

Simon really needs to look back at what worked in previous series and at the success BGT had this year. I know they're two different shows but BGT had the balance of good judges chemistry, likeable and talented contestants (in the final at least), and it was a family friendly show which everyone could enjoy on a Saturday night.
I think part of the success of the Matt Cardle/1D/Wagner year was that the contestants attracted a wider audience. I know there was a little shock (Katie being saved all the time) but I don't think that's what brought in the viewers in the end. The article is all 'sources say' so hopefully it's not true. |

It's official, they want X Factor to be the new Big Brother...the axe is certain to fall on this show after this one.

I'm not too sure if my ratings are correct, but the last time I checked:
TOWIE - on average 1.5m ratings Geordie Shore - God knows, who actually watches that? Probably around 400k and I'm being generous there Big Brother 1.5 - 2m The X Factor - 10m. I'm not quite sure why they've come to the conclusion that a TOWIE type show will work in their favour. TXF batters all of those shows in ratings and that's because it's nothing like them so I don't know why they're 'chasing' that crowd - who probably already watch the show anyway. People are tuning OUT because of all that rubbish, adding to it is going to continue to drive people away, but I think that's what Simon wants now. I think he's bored of the show and wants to make way for a brand new show - that maybe doesn't involve singing. |

They don't want it more like TOWIE etc. But I do think they have seen the Voice, what a disaster it has been because the contestants had nothing about them. So if they can get a new Jedward or Wagner or Cocozza, some one like that, then they will take it.
They need characters which will get people talking and people tuning in to see them. It sells papers, free publicity. |

Most of the famous pop stars in history took their music and their singing very seriously....the music was their prime motivation in their lives and the fame, money etc was more of a sideshow. The reason they stayed successful is because they wanted to make great music and to entertain their audience, not because they wanted to fall drunk out of nightclubs. I remember a journalist who spent a weekend backstage at the XF last autumn saying whatever X Factor is, it has absolutely nothing to do with music or the music industry. It's just a money making operation and ratings spinner for Cowell and ITV. |

"They go out and get trashed and fall out of nightclubs." Big Brother and Towie contestants maybe but this isn't the way to go about a music career at all, shaunnashines did raise a great point although people like Frankie don't get raiting they get newspaper headlines. |

I so agree with you. I don't want the X Factor to continue going down the road of Trash TV. |

I'll take this with a pinch of salt. They kicked Frankie off because he went to far
also weren't a few acts kicked off at the judges houses last year for just for having sex. I'd be surprised if the producers wanted X Factor to be spiced up in this way. Someone like Frankie is just a nuisance for the producers to control. |
